Specific topic aside. Why does every action need to correct all wrongs? Cant it be done one at a time. is a wrong an objective measure? There are broadly accepted wrongs, there are subjective wrongs and wrongs that the majority accept but do.
To say it's ok to talk because it's not action is very wrong. There are laws that are broadly accepted that inciting hate is a crime. Rabble rousing to burn, hate, kill, injure is wrong even if you are the doing the evil. As for the comment about wait and see if the idea takes off or sinks, is about the vocal minority out shouting the silent majority in evil, these actions are to wake, rally galvanize the majority.
Not to mention the side of the road the steering is on, or orange blinkers. Slander laws and hate speech tell me that "free speech" is a catch phrase for something slightly more complex, not as anarchist. Something for good Not as those seeking to exploit it pretend it means
The cost of something is the price it costs to make + profit divided by the number sold. That's why economy of scale has an impact. If ford could sell 100 times the number of cars the per cost per unit would drop, not how how many it could make. The other point about sites stealing content isn't really there because would you change your view if you were dealing with the original source ? BTW I don't have a vested financial interest in the topic, I'm just peeved by the arguments
No I didn't miss your point, you are missing the generic case. In everything in life, in the real world, you don't get a product if you are not ok with the cost. It's not for the maker/seller to stop you taking it with paying for it. That applies here, just avoid those sites and they will slowly die out if the world agrees with you If the world doesn't then no harm done you don't want those sites anyway.

When ad blocking becomes pervasive and not just within a closed group that doesn't spend anyway, the anti ad blocker will increase in use , my point is you are ruining it for everyone. Use what sites you like and get the ads (don't read them or click) if you don't like the shape / type of ads don't use the site.
I'm personally ok with Google style simple clear ads but not crack ware site ads. If a site pushes to much well I move on. That's the only way to act to affect change in a moral way.
