Using telnet to acomplish this is indeed very amusing
    • to stop some time-bomb-like program (on a bank-server) (which would have destroyed $10M), they type into the same terminal: "remove time-bomb"

Well then I'd like to hear som points.

I do know that AppleTalk (the built-in-one-size-fits-all-proprietary-apple-proto col) is not very efficient (has a lot of overhead) and that AT-clients broadcast all the time, but so does the IPX-clients on our school network. (last time I checked w/ etherpeek I got 1-2 per second..)
But all the MacOSes from 7.x to 10 speak natively TCP/IP, so w/ a browser it makes good surfstations. Besides they look prettier..
Then, there is a NDS-client for mac (someplace), so you can authenticate and restrict user access.
AND, for the MacOS X, you can use all your favourite BSD-tools you like.

I'm looking forward to your 'list'..

  15. Alternatives to projector ? on Professional Projector vs. Big Screen TV? · · Score: 2
The only alternatives to a projector as I can see are:

    • normal TY (up to 24"): pro: price, con: size
    • big-screen tv (>24"): pro: doesn't need painted wall -> less space needed, con: has a built-in projector, so lighting problem applies here too
    • plasma screen: pro: flat-as-hell, con: price & lifetime

so I'd go with a projector, >2000 lux, and 1024x768res, but those cost $$.. ;-(

We're not having so many customers right now, but when we can organize Football- or Soccer- (or concert- or whaterver) parties, we expect a whole lot more of people = a whole lot more of money = a bigger budget to buy new equipment.. =))
AND: (the biggest improvement, I think) we don't have to ship those big, heavy film-boxes around, just d/l it, save it to the RAID and off it goes ! =)))

Do you have any suggestions according to this ?
