When transfering money from a swiss bank, they type into a terminal (as I recall): "telnet money 642.567.36.37 953.347.26.36" Using telnet to acomplish this is indeed very amusing
to stop some time-bomb-like program (on a bank-server) (which would have destroyed $10M), they type into the same terminal: "remove time-bomb" CONGRATULATIONS!
Well, that's all I remember, apart from the obvious "hacking into the FBI-server (over the Net..) in 60 seconds while a gorgeous woman blows you"..
In our high school, we are planning to install a smtp-over-ssh and pop3-over-ssh, so that sniffing on our (largely unswitched) network and over the big/great (pick one) Internet can be reduced.
What do you/.ers think ?
Does this have any perspective ?

Well then I'd like to hear som points.
I do know that AppleTalk (the built-in-one-size-fits-all-proprietary-apple-proto col) is not very efficient (has a lot of overhead) and that AT-clients broadcast all the time, but so does the IPX-clients on our school network. (last time I checked w/ etherpeek I got 1-2 per second..)
But all the MacOSes from 7.x to 10 speak natively TCP/IP, so w/ a browser it makes good surfstations. Besides they look prettier..
Then, there is a NDS-client for mac (someplace), so you can authenticate and restrict user access.
AND, for the MacOS X, you can use all your favourite BSD-tools you like.
The only partition I managed to mount under linux was the HFS, the HFS+ didn't work..
BUT: why do you want to install linux on HFS ???
just partition the HD 50/50 ext2 and HFS (or 5/45/30/20 swap/ext2/hfs/hfs+ so you have some macOS place and a 'shared' place..
I just got a 8600/250 (4GB HD), and i'm going to try something like this.. when I get CDs or the bigger pipe for d/l (cable next month:-)
but i'm still not sure about which distro (living in denmark): LinuxPPC or SUSE PPC ??
Some advice appreciated..
Here in Toftlund, Denmark, Europe, our local Cinema is about to get new-built, and we're planning a (med-)high-speed I-Net connection and second projection-openings from the "tech-room" to be able to integrate this in the future. =)
We're not having so many customers right now, but when we can organize Football- or Soccer- (or concert- or whaterver) parties, we expect a whole lot more of people = a whole lot more of money = a bigger budget to buy new equipment.. =))
AND: (the biggest improvement, I think) we don't have to ship those big, heavy film-boxes around, just d/l it, save it to the RAID and off it goes ! =)))
Do you have any suggestions according to this ?
(We're in the planning phase now..)
feel free to reply (if you're no karma-whore or troll..;)

You see, when my 200lbs-aunt kneed on my iBook, the screen just broke.. without any reason..
Real men use computers made of steel.. err.. titanium !

Well, the guys at cern (in Geneva, Switzerland) invented the whole thing (and not NCSA), so it should lurk somewhere there.. go search for it !

MD + Mic + Duct-tape (aka Gaffa-tape) = MD with 'built-on' Mic

Absolutely
And what are you referring to ??
I bought some fruit: an Apple PowerBook G3 and I'm really impressed of it's inside and outside features..
