I'm not sure what you're watching. I find that there are now more quality dramas available then ever. AMC's recent productions of excellent shows, followed by CW, FX, and other networks, and Netflix's continuous creation of very good shows and original movies gives me more to watch then I have time for. I agree that the partially scripted "reality" shows and weak network comedies do mostly suck. Brooklyn 99 is funny as hell, though.
I have a hard time accepting that Microsoft is actually trying to keep data from any government. Putting a database in Germany that will be managed by German a communications company may make data collection easier for both governments while providing Microsoft the opportunity to claim security.
They may have been very accurate in past centuries if the individual thermometers were calibrated by comparing it to another thermometer that matched the freezing and boiling points of water precisely. Today scientific thermometers are calibrated to international standards or ASTM E2847.
I wonder if this low bid method of getting a government contract will lead to Oracle like maintenance costs in upcoming years. If their software is locked in what's to stop this from happening?
The glass cracked on an impact tester. Steel dents. According to the linked article it's just another form of strong glass, nothing special, unless they release data that supports the BS being reported about it.
The last 40 years American education has worked to make everyone equal. No one stands out. If they do, they likely get shunted over to a specialized tech high school. Too many kids are brought up with the all-participants-get-a-ribbon mentality. The bright kids that are capable of working hard to get ahead are actually discouraged by the US educational system, so that the dumber ones don't feel bad. The US has hurt itself in so many ways with the stupid PC thinking. In life there are winners and losers. Teach the kids to compete and win, until they find what they're good at. Asian kids know that they have to work hard to get ahead, while many US kids are coddled at school and by their parents. US Education has been heading in the wrong direction since 1970, just after the Supreme Court gave kids "rights" in school not to be slapped when acting out, etc.

Computer sticks are only about $100 each. Use a small keyboard and trackpad for each and you've got a nice setup with either Linux or Windows.

The sandboxed web browser will keep this from happening as it will only occur virtually. Close the browser and - poof - its normal again.

Someone has to make up the new words. They don't create themselves.
There is much truthiness to what you say.
Reel to reel does sound better than hard drives I hear.
US consumer protection laws aren't much more than suggestions, unless the feds want to get to a particular company for whatever reason.
In the past 7 years Linux on the desktop had gone from less than 1% to 1.8%. That's movement. Although, at a snails pace.
Cortana and Google Now will both be on the iPhone. Unless Apple cripples them, they both should be superior to Siri.
It might mean that the original poster can't count past 16. So, it's okay to equate 24 with 16. Or, something. It is kinda dumb.
I presume you aren't suggesting that the space station open its windows. Or are you?
Intense UV radiation should kill the surface bacteria. The rest might just get a nice tan.
Stay away from that damn place. It sounds like a cesspool.
Chemistry can be used in clever ways.

Buy yourself a beer. You've earned it.
If the product is fixable so the outages don't occur, that should be done. Killing off a product seems like laziness on Intel's part.
Wikipedia says so also. So, yeah!
Now you have to tell me, please, since I don't live in Texas.
Can't ask age. Just ask date of birth.
