Yeah, consider me fooled. While reading the summary I started laughing out loud (went out for a few drinks earlier...it's saturday night). Thought it was a pretty good one (pipe dream and all).
Then I clicked the article link, noticed it was actually CNN, dated March 30th. Damn.
That still makes Office Ultimate about $890 U.S. I understand that software costs more overseas (taxes, etc)...but a $300 markup...? Wow...Australians are getting screwed.
People can hate Windows concepts and MS, sure, but MS spends a lot of money with real people to ensure their crap is easy to use.
Please don't try and defend the Windows Mobile interface as being "easy to use". Sure it works and can do some powerful things...but it's not very intuitive, it's cluttered, and a pain to use for the average user.
SACD is not exactly that new of a format, but it's mostly a format for high-quality audio geared towards audiophiles. It's a Sony development, so I'm not that surprised that they would want to include content protection (they are one of the five major labels). The hybrid format was designed so that a SACD recording could be played on a standard cd player. My experiences with hybrid discs, such as ones made by DMP Records has been that the cd content was as high-quality as a normal cd played on a regular player, but higher-quality audio could be had if put in a SACD player.

Also keep in mind that currently it takes at least 22 hours by train. In actuality it's probably closer to 24 because of delays.
Maybe that's just a way of saying that Starbucks is the real winner here.

Umm...AT&T Wireless is now Cingular which is soon to be AT&T again.
If this turns out to be anything like the comic book, I'd be worried. Very worried.
Actually parts of the film were filmed in Alaska, IMDB isn't very specific but I heard about it on NPR. Filming Locations (IMDB)

The $80 quoted in the article, it should be noted is in Canadian dollars (it is a Canadian newspaper). $80 CAD is equivalent to $48 U.S.
