I bet someone will want to, in the future, screen potential employees for this gene to see if they'll be violent or not. This can lead us to an era of genetic discrimination, like in Gattaca.
Agreed. It's not just about whether the code works or not, it's totally about the design and skill of the code. I don't really have problems when it comes to writing code on exams; it is annoying to write stuff down on paper, but I don't seem to have much difficulty. But, then again, I haven't done that much written code; I took the AP Computer Science exam and I received a 5 (highest mark) on that, and it had a huge written code section. The problems were mostly regarding heaps, trees, and lists, so I breezed through them and had thirty minutes to spare when I finished.
I still have a 1MB Palm Pro, back from the early days of handhelds. It still works pretty great, aside from a minor LCD leak that is barely visible and the occasional digitizer recalibration. I haven't used it in a year, but I used heavily for a year or two before experiencing any problems. Is it just me, or is old hardware made to last?
WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol. I think the acronym that you should use is AP, which would stand for Access Point, in this case. The wireless is assumed.
As previous posts have indicated, IBM makes great laptops. My IBM ThinkPad 570E runs Debian GNU/Linux sid/unstable without any problems. I have everything working down to the Lucent WinModem.
I also have an 800Mhz AMD K7. I have a similar setup as you do. I have Linux on one drive (DVDs, games, everything) and Windows on the other (Diablo II.) I have had it for about four weeks and no problems. Perhaps your motherboard is bad.
Well, I work at a startup in Silicon Valley (this is a summer job for me and my first time working.) The office is really nice, each person has a large desk (each one is a corner desk.) While we do not have plants, we decorate an employee's workspace with ornaments just before he/she comes from vacation. Each cubicle has two shelves for manuals/books. Even the president of the company shares the same kind of cubicle as everyone else. I hope everywhere I work has at least this kind of environment.
Might I add that Sun is working with Microsoft? My father was a Sun employee for a short period of time until he decided to leave them. Anyway, he said that most builds by Microsoft developers were broken and that they set them back a long time.
Ah, now soon everyone can have a telescreen in their own room that not only displays images, but also sends images back to Big Brother.. errr Toshiba.

when it speaks back to you,it'll probably be in a robotic monotonic voice
if you replicate that (which you will if you have no experience with the language) nobody will be able to understand you
