Tis true.. I just bought a 20gig 75gxp and am extremly happy with it, fast, quite, and its IBM. THe only thing I didn't like was that no docs came with it, but I guess the only thing you really need is the Slave-master instructions printed on the side. BTW, I would never buy a Maxtor, theyre very low quality, the HD I just replaced with the 75gxp was a maxtor, and almost everytime I did a Hardboot (no kidding) the computer wouldn't detect it, therefore screwing up LILO, so after doing a soft boot it would detect it though, Kinda sucked!
I am!, Besides he's German, even if he did live during a time when coke was massly available, he would have never had it cold, just ask a German for a Icecube and you'll find out what I mean

I did that one time with my little sister, I sent her chrismas Wish list to Santa@northpole.com , and just about crapped my pants when a week later I got an e-mail saying my list had been recieved and is being read by "santa" now You can check out the places website at www.northpole.com
I love old Games,my favorite for the C64 was one that was a RPG in an Egyptian tomb (I forget the name), It was also perty easy to program, my uncle had a program the determined Balistics from weapons.
May I be the first to Say COOL,
I also like Mozzila, only a 5meg or so Download and just as good as netscape, just no mail program:-(
Yeah, I live in Batavia, about 20miles out of Cincinati, and recieved a big letter in my E-mail from Fuse(Cinci Bells ISP) Claiming that I can finally get ADSL, Whahoo, nope, it turned out the sent it to me on mistake, Batavia can get ADSL, my road can't, so then they came out and put in new line so I could on my road, guess what, I'm one Telephone pole off, and they refuse to extend the line. So I'm getting Cable internet from TimeWarner perty soon now.
And about v.92? Don't even worry about it, just try to get broadband to everyone.
If its just the cooler fan un-plug it, Mine sounds like a mesquito, so I just pulled the wire off the mobo, but if its in the power-supply= nuts to you
When I first read about this about 3 months ago, it sounded as if it would run normal 32bit stuff, but then special hardware could access the extra 32bits, kind of like 3dnow or something.
BTW, I don't mean to break subject, but I'm fixing to buy a 600mhz Athlon on a FIC SD11 mobo, has anyone had any problems with this setup? and will it Run Redhat 6.2 without any patches or stuff? because I'm very new to Linux and have never done patches, escpecially to screwy hardware, Thanks

Man, my computer takes about 4 sec to start gnome on a Pent2 400mhz, What kind of 386 are you running it on? Of course it will be SLow, but wouldn't you like to say, "Hey, Gnome just crashed" While you have your Cell phone in hand?
I remember in the Douglas Adams Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, he stated that anything of importance is not worth building because it will be found growing naturally on some planet somewhere. Kind of like the mattrasses or wrenches he talked about. Rather funny I thought
I'm sorry this is a bit off topic, but its related to Linux. I hate people who don't have a clue what Linux is! My moms secretary say my Redhat 6.2 box today, and said "Oh you use Linuz" (no typo). When I asked here if she knew what it was for, she said something like "its kind of like windows, it runs on top of Dos right?", I said no, it is a totally different operating system based on Unix. She said "so its really new?" I said no, Unix has been around before Dos. She still didn't grasp the idea that it was a different OS, not on top of Ms-Dos. Same thing as the people where I go to school, I was carrying around a Linux for Dummies Book as reading material, and they actually made fun of me because they couldn't grasp the idea of what Linux was, a different OS, and when I finally explained it enough to them, they said "why would want to use that, Windows comes free when you buy your computer" when I explained thay I build my own computers, they called me a liar because they think you have to have a Microsoft Tech degree to even be able to figure out how to unscrew the back of the case. Rant Over
I realize this is a little off-topic, but I was hoping someone could help me out. I live in Cincinati, Ohio, and am trying to open my own Computer business. I'm 14 years old, and am basically trying to get some money for a 1ghz athlon I want. What I want to do is order parts from a Wholesaler in California (www.DeeOneSystems.com) build custom computers, and sell them to how a person requests they be built. The only thing is that I can't think of a name for my business. So Far I have Custom Computer Creations (but that sounds like a CAD company) So I was hoping everyone could give me some suggestions. Thanks
Yeah I was looking at a K7M for 50 more $, But like I said, will Redhat 6.2 run without any patches and everything because of that via chipset. I'm pretty new to Linux, and don't know how to go screwing with the kernel and everything ( and I really don' want to try)
Yeah, I'm fixing to order a 1ghz Athlon on a FIC SD11 Motherboard with 384 of Ram (Booyaa), anyone heard of any problems with this setup (mobo or chip) on redhat 6.2(without any patches or upgrades)?
For the sake of all of man kind, may I say NO NO NO NO NO, you idiots. Tv commercials are ok, free internet with them ads is pushing it, not on my Cell Phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Athlons are so cheap now, why don't you just strap one of those things on a board for your video card. Maybe I'm missing something, but that would work pretty well wouldn't it? And then when you weren't using alot of video power, you would have an extra proccesor for faster work.
