This proves that you haven't yet broken your conditioning by Big Oil and the pro-automobile lobby to trivialize the problems of living in an automobile-centric society. Wake up!
And this proves that you haven't broken your conditioning of being Bat Shit Crazy!
suing is not "causing bad things to others". it is simply asking a judge "don't you think this person owes me money because of his behavour?". The judge said no, case closed.
Sure, as long as they pay the defendant's court costs for bringing such a stupid lawsuit, I'm okay with it. (as it is the article has been slashdotted so I can't read whether or not they did)
1. There are many things they are doing that is not even close to possible via selective breeding.
2. Selective breeding occurs over time, any negative effects (health, environmental) appear gradually (over generations) and can be tracked, studied and mitigated.
Why do you take an issue and pigeon-hole it into a political ideology? Hell the term "left-winger" is a pigeon-hole in and of itself. All you are doing is displaying your ignorance, I am very surprised you got that single upvote.
Furthermore, [citation needed] for your assumption that there is a correlation between being anti-GMO and being left wing.
If you artificially modify the genetics of corn, you no longer have a right to call it "corn" since it no longer is. It may look and feel and taste like corn, but you've made it something that isn't corn and calling it "corn" is false advertising and fraud.
Please see the history of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadoop
I mention that because it is directly related to the software that MS has developed in this article.
Not sure if troll. Yes, they fund "this kind of research", but to say they are "pretty much the only one of the large companies that [do so]" is absurd. Please see Hadoop's origins (Google). Oh and also IBM who eats this shit for breakfast.
Maybe I should suggest to my company that they start giving our products away for free just to grow the user base. Apparently having revenues lowers your stock price.
The Right to healthcare is based on many things, not one of them is theft nor coercion
All taxes are coercion, healthcare is paid for by taxes. Please see the dictionary:
coercion(noun)
1. the act of coercing; use of force or intimidation to obtain compliance.
2. force or the power to use force in gaining compliance, as by a government or police force.
Medicare etc is *indirect* coercion (paid for by taxes). The individual mandate is *direct* coercion (do this thing or else).
I see no wall keeping him or you in the USA
Incorrect assumption #1: I said nothing to imply that I agreed with him either way. I made factual quotes in response to "why you will never hear a politician say it.", not personal value statements. Incorrect assumption #2: I do not live in the USA
Incorrect assumption #3: If someone disagrees with you, they are unpatriotic and therefore should leave your country.
P.S. Again, I have not made any value judgements or opinions. I have stated the facts as they are. I personally believe in sociallized medicine, that doesn't mean I walk around blind to what it is.
That the US military doesn't own the rights to the technology they are paying to have developed. If they did they could implement their own control systems, or take future development to another contractor.
Yes, except for (non premium) shows they do not offer me a way of legally watching them (say I can't be home at the exact time they are on). DVRs can cut out advertising, all I'm doing is getting it via a different source. There is no net gain or loss to the studio either way. If my actions have not caused anyone harm, I see no moral objection.
Generally when making opinion statements it is nice to back them up with facts. Please provide facts that support your claim that C# usage is based on vendor lock-in. Seeing as how you can write Windows applications in C, C++, Java, Python, Ruby, Delphi, or about 100 other languages - there is no reason why C# is a must on Windows as Objective-C is a must on iOS.
Also considering that WPF is not an OS feature, it is a feature of the framework, it is pretty silly to use as an argument. Its like saying "but I can't use.Net anonymous functions in Java - therefore vendor lockin herp derp"
You have flipped the argument on its head. I am arguing that iOS required Objective-C. You are arguing that Objective-C does not require iOS.
For.Net, I am arguing that Windows does not require.Net. You are arguing that.Net requires Windows.
So while your argument is correct, it has no relevance to the original discussion. The two arguments are completely different, and have very different implications.
Tech support is not rocket science, if you can't handle it and adapt with the times I suggest a change of careers.
It's genetics are part corn and part bacteria. You could just as easily call it "yellow, kernel-like bacteria" as you could call it corn.
More like willful ignorance - the most common American trait there is.
Corn:
Country Gentleman sweet corn
Golden Bantam sweet corn
Blue Jade sweet corn
Ruby Queen sweet corn
Not Corn:
MON 863
MON 810
Starlink
See the difference?
If you watch a youtube video with a song in it...It's just like cutting off the hands that played the instrument.
I have no idea where you crazy copyright-lobby-sympathizers come up with these absolutely ridiculous analogies, but seriously - no one is buying it!

Why is "natural" GMO acceptable and this not?

One and the same.

Freedom is living without government coercion.
The “Right” to Healthcare is Based on Theft and Coercion
He has a sign on his desk that says "Don't steal, the government hates competition"

Pretty much this. Half the people on slashdot could have written it when they were in Elementary School.

Either that or you're just talking out your ass.

I've had Experts Exchange blocked for years now.

Not really. You can use any language you want on Windows, while you cannot do the same on iOS.
