ahhh the jaguar I remeber being in fifth grade and desiring that machine. It was the first 64 bit machine, although with further research I found it wasnt truly 64 bit.
But on another topic , what person will buy a game for 80 bucks , for a system that was arguably one of the worst sytems ever.
Who needs games when u got GL enhanced Xscreensaver..
it dosen't matter to me. I'm still going to use slack:)
no but seriously. I feel it can only help the linux community. Because in my mind the linux community is a rare beast indeed. One that thrives on fragmentation. Dont ask me why but it does. The bigger and more diverse we get. The stronger we become, so I say Bring everyone on-board the linux distro train..
I remember going into FVWM for the first time and think how cool it was, I have been using linux for 3 years now , and if some stupid restriction like that had been on my distro of choice at the time , I probably wouldn't have gotten into linux.
I just installed freeBSD I didnt like it... I wanted to see whitch was more solid freeBSD seemed nice but A lot of the basics just wouldnt work like *netscape* which hurt my feelings.. But it looked pretty solid. But I wouldn't trade it for my linux box anyday.. Maybe BSD is faster now. Or at least that is what myth tells us. But linux will grow faster and more streamlined.
ALso does anyone know where i can get the BSD kernel source? Like the latest version. I looked on freebsd.org I didnt find anything but I didnt look to hard..
Suse is quite big in europe and lets not forget linux is very popular in europe I heard somewhere that linux was used on 40% of the computers in germany that gives you an Idea of what Kind of market they have.
Linux is linux... The idea is you get people use to at least some sort of linux and they will eventually learn more about the OS in itself and the other distros.. So when people worry that its just redhat just remember under all those different distros with thier different package management programs there is linux which not just software at least not anymore.. Its a concept.. As long as the concept is being spread let it be...
bottom line: Dont worry about distros its all linux to me....
good point.. Lets not forget as long as we keep away from that piece of an OS thats the only thing more disturbing than 98 Macs are very very good thier hardware architecture at least for the CPU's are much more advanced they have a true RISC archetecture unlike pentiums III which use x86 at thier core...
Its not fair why is this happening their really should be a "posse" of lawyers for the GNU community why not.. Caldera and RedHat could help us out, and the community could get some legal defense... Thats not a bad idea, we have no one to defend us in the courts.
What do you guys think a legal team to defend the GNU community? Do you think its feasible?
Preach on brother , I got a cable modem thinking it was direct connection, damn crowding might be the only down fall of the cable modem. Although they could always fix this with bigger and better servers on the backend..

I love that theme.. Looks cool and uses barely any memory, I have the latest cvs version and with the BeOS it uses about the same amount of memory as WindowMaker does which I have to say is pretty impressive for E.

No matter how big this ps2 is, I think the X-Box is going to give the ps2 a good run for its money. Lets think about it shall we?
Whats the one most undesirable thing about the p2?
price.
What can microsoft leverage the most with x-box?
price.
Microsoft can take a hit bigger than anyone of the others (sony, sega, nintendo).
I feel microsoft might have the last laugh in this one.
