We have laws against that.
Also, you can't torture somebody until they confess because an innocent man will either never confess (thus meaning that his torture will carry on indefinitely), or falsely confess just to end the torture (in which case he will be wrongfully labeled a sex offender).
Even if there was a way to find out if somebody was guilty using torture, there's still the problem that you would have to torture innocent people to find out.
Really? Fighting Hitler automatically means they have a good history?
USA did more to save Eastern Asia from Japanese Imperialism than anyone else, but I wouldn't say that means that we're immune to any criticism about our history.
I fail to understand your point. Are you trying to say that Malware on your computer is caused by some guy on the other side of the world neglecting to run Windows Update?
To be totally fair, people who don't pay for their software (pirates) aren't actually customers, and Microsoft has no responsibility towards people who aren't their customers.
But why should users need Apple's permission to install OSX on any computer they want? They payed for it, and they are not distributing unauthorized copies to other people, so I don't see why Apple should have any legal right to dictate how users can use it.
Imagine if Microsoft decreed that the only browser Windows users can install is Explorer because they never authorized Firefox. That would be the same kind of twisted logic that Apple is trying to employ.
I always make the argument, what if China decided one day to the next that 300 million (about a quarter of their country) decided to go for a walk and moved to the US via Alaska.
Somehow I doubt China has enough planes and boats to move that many people.

Yeah, I was pissed about the whole Spore thing, too, but I don't really see anything they did illegal. Maybe false advertising (depending on how you interpret the law), but there's really not enough illegal activity to "sue the crap out of them".
Does the German government actually think that people learn violence from games? Violence is part of human instinct. We have evolved so that we have a tendency to hurt other people. No amount of censorship is going to fix that.
Star Trek isn't about battles in general. They happen (especially in some of the later shows), but usually the captain manages to avoid combat with diplomacy.

Since when is it your job to tell Germany how to apply its laws?

Didn't this happen to the first Wolfenstein also?
Actually people completely underestimate this...

What about animals? They have a tendency to kill each other (and not just for food, either). Do they play paintball and video games?

I'm pretty sure that a white hummer is worse for the environment then a small black sedan.
