    On the other hand, removing the VFAT code could be a derived work (non-infringing Linux kernel), which TomTom distributes together with their product. I don't see why deriving should be restricted just to adding new functionality.

    And just to tone down the hyperbole a bit, botnets don't kill people.

    Except when used against hospitals, fire departments, traffic control systems. I could go on with situations where disrupting computer systems could end up costing lives, but you get the idea.

    So under your same argument, this sort of censoring would be useless, since I can sign it and my wife can badmouth the doctor later.

    BTW, I'm not trying to defend this type of nonsensical contracts.
