The percentages listed are by customers not number of units failing. Many people had their units fail more than once which brings the total percentage of failed consoles higher.
Here is a hint, you don't need to be blindly obedient to be patriotic.
I never once said that you have to be blindly obedient to be patriotic, I said that if you did then a patriot would == bigot. Ahh.. the wonderful invention of the 'if' statement. If only there were some equivalent in the English language, oh yes if.
Only in your imaginary world is that true.
I only wish that even half of all the bullshit I have seen in this world were imaginary.
If your wife hates all other women and you love your wife enough to believe in every ideal she believes in without question, then yes you hate all other women.
If you follow your country blindly while it creates war with others over possibly meaningless matters or when there are other options besides war and you never once question it then you are a bigot.
It's not sad to see it appear trollish when really it does not have much relevance at all to the topic at hand. Any moron can throw posts all over that say, "WOOO!! Go !"
I love how as time passes on the number of people we are allowed to know in real life is continuously degraded while the number of people we hear of and speak to online continually increases. We as people are no longer allowed to exist with one another peacefully when the government imposes laws ordering us to stay confined to a set number of friends. Any large gathering of people no matter how peaceful the majority are will have it's troubles and it ultimately leads to the police imposing restrictions on the entire group as a whole. So we turn to the internet and only see real life people during forced events(work, school, military, family gatherings) and this begins to associate the real world with events that are not our choosing and the internet is associated with a life of openness and choice.
.
Then we have reports on TV about how your children are addicted to the internet(guess what, you're addicted to the TV and all of it's bullshit drama) and we wonder why? On the internet you can have as many friends as you like and you are never hassled by officials. You are free to speak your mind in most cases relatively free from harm or backlash from anyone besides some anonymous loser.
.
We are continuously scared of the real world from television news and shielded from outside influences as children, then grow up in a world where we are not supposed to congregate with more than a few people unless you are extremely wealthy, at a workplace or working for the government and we wonder why our society has gone so anti-social?
.
Granted this can not be said for everybody everywhere, but it generally stands that when you're hanging out with a very large group of friends at a private residence you are worried about it getting broken up.
All WoW and any MMO(or any other activity here on this earth for that matter) amount to are time sinks because without time all games and beings here on this planet would cease to exist.
Please let me know when you find a way around having to use so called 'time' in order to have fun.
You can not compare electrical signals interpreted by graphics cards sent in a higher resolution to the difference between an F1 Race Car and a Cessna.
The two graphics cards are able to compute the exact same calculations sent to them by the software. One of them simply does it faster which allows you to both compute and output at a higher resolution.
I could beef up a Cessna and make it go as fast as an F1 car, but it would not compute and handle the turns in the same way because the F1 is modeled on a completely different architecture and frame than the Cessna.
...I think you have no idea what you are talking about.
Actually, he's correct in most aspects and has at least some idea what he is talking about. The cheaper machine and cards can do everything this card can do, just smaller.
What you say is true, but is also a very pessimistic viewpoint. I prefer to believe that the majority of people (politicians, developers, everyone) are actually trying to make things better. I'm sure that there are certainly notable exceptions.
I believe the main problem is that out of the few people who are trying to do good, most of them are very misguided and don't have the mind-power to think outside of the already corrupt system(box).
Violence is part of our world and human psyche whether we like it or not. I do see a reason to stop violence in real life, however in a video it is not meant to be taken seriously and it is just there for the 'fun factor'.
I don't know why so many people continue trying to push in hopes of removing more and more of our freedoms as Americans. By banning video games and books we are telling the government that we want them to control everything we see and hear.
Turn on the news, there is far more violence(real violence) than you can find in a video game. Read your history books or go take a trip over to a third world country.
People are capable of anything and everything no matter what a video game shows them. Hundreds of years ago humans did not need video games to tell them to kill, rape or commit pedophilia but they did.
This country was founded on freedom and I should be able to do anything I want as long as it isn't harming another individual.
The simple fact is that video games don't teach us violence, the world does. Stop trying to cut off the fingers when the whole arm is infected. Our world is filled with violence and I don't believe that will ever change because you can never change what a human being is capable of and to do so would make them inhuman.
I would be much more cynical about that, Oracly WANTS to destroy MS's monopoly and usurp it for itself, if at all possible. The only way we're going to foster innovation and interoperability is if no one company ever achieves 90% market penetration again.
I don't see any problem with 90% market penetration if the product is a good product. As they say there is no use in re-inventing the wheel.
The reason why Microsoft is such a bad company to have achieved such great market penetration is because of it's bully attitude and held back technology(source code).
I think the deep-seeded reason for monopolies succeeding is our flawed patent system, copyrights, etc. When you allow one company to own rights to a single idea, how can you prevent a monopoly on it?

They have a scientific name for /. readers?
Emptious-Numerator Divided-Dottus.
Sometimes referred to simply as Divided-Dottus or the symbols '/.'.

Not trying to be offensive, but you are wrong.

Ahem, actually, there might be a fine line between 'respecting employees and being cool' and 'taking eleven year to finish a program'.
Sorry, no, it's a line the size of a road.
It's easy to miss a line the size of a road when you're standing forever away.
Why support a child when I can support i++?

Yes, it's called Microsoft Windows.
Now all I have to do is keep myself from evolving to a point where my mind is able to discern information in energy waves...
Wow, what a headache that will be.
*puts on tin foil cap*
I believe that your point was very well made~
