    Organ failure (that doesn't result in immediate death) due to external trauma is relatively rare. If organs were only going to relatively healthy people, there wouldn't be a shortage.

    Registering for the draft is optional. However, you are ineligible for a lot of financial aid for college if you don't register.

    The summary only gives the rate for people that have the disease, if you want to know the false positive rate you'll have to read the actual report.

    Also, the article says they consider it a good proof of concept but still far away from being used in actual diagnosis.

    Unless the provider is in the same state, they are not required to collect the sales tax. The buyer is required to report it on their annual tax return.

    For the return, if the provider is not in a state with sales tax, there would be no tax on the return.

    Forcing businesses to allow anyone to use any locker room just by claiming to be of that gender does affect the other users of that locker room.

    Far less trivial to detect if the owner of the phone is currently the one driving.

    I suspect it has to do with all the transgender focused laws that got pushed through without any public discussion or analysis of the potential consequences.

  12. They claim to be highly successful but they haven't actually succeeded so I doubt everything else they say.

  13. It's concerning because it's mostly only being real world tested with regards to the lanes. Testing real world detection and avoidance of the cyclist requires a person potentially getting hit.

    Similar mass, sure, but similar speed? Most bikes in urban areas are going much closer to the average driving speed than the average walking speed.

    Why should the bike lane be adjacent to the main thoroughfares instead of one block over?

    Bike lanes shouldn't double as parking, but removing the parking is hardly a solution for cities that already have a parking problem.

    A more likely alternative explanation would be that the people in question are afraid to disagree with the majority without strong evidence and the vast majority aren't interested enough to do the analysis themselves. Not that I think that that's actually what's happening, but strawman arguments do more harm than good.

    Having consistent meal times is a huge factor in weight gain/loss.

  22. More likely they were about "working lunches" where a meeting or such is scheduled for lunch time and employees are expected to eat while working.

    Since this is car to car instead of a centralized system, I find it less worrying in these respects than the efforts to shift from taxing gasoline to taxing road usage.

    I'm more interested in what proof, if any, they have that Russia intended to help Trump get elected. That may have been the end result, but I find it far more likely that they intended to hurt Clinton to make her less able to do anything once she was elected.
