I'm also curious about this. I can see how if it's a windows DRM thing possibly, or the software that allegedly installs itself onto windows machines, but for us running linux, is this really a problem?
Those kenwood drives aren't the best either. We've got one at work which doesn't read half the CD's we put in it. Seems like the smallest scratch or even the fact that a CD might be burned instead of pressed and confuse that drive.
I'd love a dual athlon. Tell me, your reliable source... can you tell anyone ELSE where to see such information to put mind mind at ease about the actual existance of such an awesome mobo?
don't be dumb, there is no one living in that timezone...not really, no offense to people who DO live in the ocean, but the eastern time zone is the first one on this continant to see the sun., however, looking at my watch, i see that this was posted in the future by about a half hour.;-) - AZ
I tried to get one, but they never got around to teling me I could have one;-) I wanted to see if I could get around the ads too. Thoguh I never expected them to be really cool machines. That's what you can expect for a FREE-PC. the cheapest hardware, and well, I'm suprised they didn't go with a FREE-OS too...;-) - AZ
this is very true, the technology is being upgrade so fast that none can keep up and it's regoddamdiculous to even try to buy the fastest CPU on the market, not only will it be out of date tomorrow, you won't be able to use it for lack of a supporting mobo (motherboard for those of you who don't know). this is making many more clock speeds available, but making a stable and longlasting system less likey. think about it, they're making quantity, not quality now. sure, i want a gighertz processor as much as anyone, but i think i'll wait a year before i get one so i know it works and there's a motherboard for it, but than, it will no longer be available nor will supporting motherboards. Well, I guess I'd just like to share my opinion that things are moving TOO fast now, and the race needs to slow down or... well, there has to be a way that the end user doesn't get screwed. - AZ
With further reading by folling the link from Troed, I found that "...the image can be duplicated anywhere within the ring..." and not just at the focii of the elispse. This said, I wonder if the fellow who mentioned a fat guy in a circular pool would create waves and thus a symmetrical spot on the opposite side of the pool would be observed. Even if it is only a property of elispes, this is still something that might someday be harnessed and used. Of course, you were probably already thinking that.;-)
Soylent Green?
icky. just plain icky.
The noisest part of all my computers i the hard drive, not the CPU fan.

The day EV Nova comes out for the PC, I'm going to try to run it under wine!

A Fujistus drive that's actaully working, is one that should be backed up.

They've got it for the PDA, there must be one out there for the desktop linux user. Anybody know where I could find it?
Sorry if this seems off topic.
