  2. This is a good thing on Google vs. eBay/PayPal · · Score: 3, Insightful

Considering how unresponsive Paypal is and how much of a maze Ebay tries to be, when you try to contact their customer support, this can only be a good thing.

Maybe this move will force them to stop acting so arrogantly towards us, their customers. And try to provide some actual customer support.

Hmmm, ... how about Bosnia ?

They've had Islam for about 450 years, and the majority of population is muslim; and yes the country is still in tatters, but in few years time it will definitely be in the EU. Why ? Well, if Romania and Bulgaria can in 2007, Bosnia will be for sure.

And how about Albania ? They are in Europe geographically. So will they be kicked out or kept out of the EU club ?

("Midnight Express" is a hugely FALLACIOUS piece of shit, btw).

That may be, but this what I'm about to tell you is factual. My parents worked for a company which had a export contract with Iraq in late 80s.

One of the lorry/truck drivers, making a delivery, was stopped by Turkish police on the way to Iraq. After a brief interrogation, cos they felt like it, they proceeded to insert their battons into his anus, repatedly.

After he came back, all the lorry drivers got scared, so they always traveled in groups, because the deliveries still needed to be made.

Don't get me wrong. I love Turkey and its rich history. But the fact that Turkey is still pretty "special" is not fiction.

  5. Swap your loyalty card on Supermarket Loyalty Cards Vs National ID Cards · · Score: 1

Two years ago they had this great idea at Extreme Computing where the users were encouraged to swap their loyalty cards:

where you can swap your loyalty card with someone else's (cash in the points first if you must), and take on the brand new demographic profile of a complete stranger. Imagine the data- processors' bafflement when a healthy-eating family of 4 suddenly turns into a single 33-year-old male who consumes nothing but satsumas and ready meals.

Read more about it here. It was a cool idea, I wonder why more people don't do this ?

Anyways, as far as National IDs go, you can read more about it here and show your support by getting one of the t-shirts.

Is it surprising that US government is supporting something that is in breach of somebodys rights ? NO !

Pretty much everybody in the world knows that USA is responsible for more deaths than Nazi Germany during WWII, that USA brakes more human rights than it defends. So why bother lying to yourselves ? All this talk about "your rights" is just there to keep you happy while you sponsor your government with your taxes.

Whats wrong here in this case, is not the US government policy, but the US government in general.

Remember that time last year (1999) when the US was bombing Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Bill Clinton advised you, the americans, to go home and look at your atlases to find out where Kosovo is. You are "helping" other countries and you don't even know where they are. :) Come on !
