But until I'm head of IT and can get approval to completely rewrite one of our core systems at great expense for very little business benefit it would be useful to hear what the alternative to doing what I do is.
Care to elaborate? I log on as field users to determine what is causing their issues with Dynamics CRM, an application I don't have the source to and which gives very cryptic error messages. If you have a better solution I'll be over the moon to use that instead.
I'm typing this on a Linux Mint netbook with a Galaxy Note 2 next to me whilst watching a TV show on my PS3 and I have an iMac upstairs. Fanboy I am not.
Amazon Instant is only available in the US. Piracy is often a way to route around stupid local licensing agreements. I don't want to have to pay for all the crap on Sky or Virgin here in the UK just to watch one show.
I don't know. I can see plenty of non-nerds wanting to able to add extra storage without having to buy a new device, have the ability to block unwanted calls, mark texts from certain numbers as spam or use Swype to name but 4.
Brown carried on the same deregulation that the Tories had been doing for the past 20 years because he would have been pilloried as anti-business for doing anything else. However that's not to detract from your point that they're all the same. I remember when they were all different but that was before Murdoch took over the government.
What's your solution to a powerful press that routinely libels ordinary people who then have to go through a difficult and expensive process where even if they win the mud will still stick?
When ordinary people are libelled by the press they have to go through an expensive and unreliable process against a far richer opponent to get redress. What is your solution to this imbalance?
Everyone is dependent on the government or did you think the army is just a group of concerned citizens or contract law came about through the generosity of the wealthy? I get that you want to be dependent on luck for your health and well-being but sane people realise a safety net is as good an idea as everyone being taught how to read and write.
Only on a thread about an Apple product would people argue that a flaw in something costing 4 times the price of the competition is "not that bad". I want to sell things to these people.
I don't see it stopping Amazon from offering their own services independently of Google.

Log on as a different user is broken which is a major pain.
Well I've got a Windows partition on my Mac and I'm a .NET developer so I think I've got the full set :-)

There are plenty of Anglicans who are not minus the homophobia.
Glass houses spring to mind Mr Typo.
iOS I can understand but in what way is Mac OS X a walled garden?
A junkie with a cricket bat? Would he be wearing a bowler hat too? You might want to actually visit the UK sometime.

That's not accidental.
Yeah we should rise up in support of Rupert Murdoch and Lord Northcliffe. Piss off.
Chiropractor (practitioner of unproven pseudo-science). Chiropodist (foot doctor). Please don't confuse the two.

Guns are not banned in the UK. Now fuck off.
Doesn't your browser come with spellcheck?
4 times was a number I pulled out of my ass but seriously who would make that kind of excuse for a similarly specced Lenovo?
