  1. From anyone who's ever hiked - duh on Pine Forest Vapor Particles Can Limit Climate Change · · Score: 4, Interesting

Everyone knows this - it's why you see that bluish haze above northern forests (Maine, looking at you) in the summer, the turpenes coming off the trees make natural smog in the sunlight.

You accuse me of misogyny and then use the term "femnazi" and the phrase "panties crawl up her ass"?

Women take more time off, career-wise, than men do, and it's related to their gender. That's a true statement. What's the problem?

  3. Productivity gap on Will Peggy the Programmer Be the New Rosie the Riveter? · · Score: 1

The same productivity gap for women exists in all industries. 5 days a month and doesn't die, etc. etc. plus baby-time means that fewer employers will invest in a female employee knowing the ROI is lower than for a male employee.

OTOH, men die earlier then women, so they have a chance to make it up on the back end.

If you wrap them in Triclosan-scented everything and feel them gluten/soy/sugarfree Brawndo for years, they'll never learn to metabolize or tolerate anything else. Life carries risk, and as much as public education has taught you that causality is a human construct, it ain't - learn to deal with things or they'll deal with you, you pussies.

It's interesting that all were slain by Men, while the only ones who killed Balrogs were Elves or Maiar. In the original Gondolin myth the dragons were actually mechanical and basically giant troop transports, again highlighting the pastoral and anti-industrial themes in a lot of JRRTs work. Dragons were noisy, mechanical, destructive things, part of the mortal world of Men, while Balrogs were basically demons, part of the immortal world (Heaven/Hell).
