Has many region free DVD hacks for you.
I suggest you decide between a faster or region-free drive though, 'cause I don't think you'll get both - yet!
Also, you might want to revert to the original firmware, before trying to install another hacked firmware (I'm not sure about it, but I'd imagine it'd be cleaner that way)

I've been in a similar position in my current job.
I'm on a 2 year contract and the first 9 months to a year were flat-out. I was regularly putting in 12 hour days, overnight shifts and the occasional saturday afternoon or Sunday (Saturday morning is paid under the contract).
Since then, we've still been busy, but the management philosophy has been one of give and take. As long as you get your work done, you can come and go as you please.
The other advantage, as some have already pointed out is that you'll keep your job.
I signed your petition, but my disappointment has diminished from how I felt yesterday. The preview feature has given me a taste of how things will be and I'm looking forward to that. I feel that if Apple are adding tracks every day as they say they are then, when this is finally launched to us international customers the service will be truly awesome.
I really hope it goes worldwide in a few months, and certainly before it goes out to the dark-side at the end of the year!
The octopus card is also accepted instead of cash in amongst other places: in 7-Eleven, Circle-K and soon McDonald's. It's even possible to replce your Octopus card with a mobile phone with it's own embedded Octopus chip.

I bought a Japanese 110V Dreamcast which I plugged into the 240V Hong Kong mains in my eager anticipation of playing Sega Rally on it's launch.
All was well for a couple of minutes until a power regulating capacitor finally popped with jet of dialectic vapour being comically ejected via the cooling fan.
After replacing the capacitor and buying a new stepdown transformer it still worked!

If you're using an application on a regular basis (Because I does what you need it to do) then you will learn it's user interface regardless of how unfreindly it is on first glance.
Don't get me wrong, consistency is desirable, it's just not essential.
For example if you look at a complex application such as Primavera project planning software (please excuse the non-user-freindly URL!) http://www.primavera.com/products/p3.html despite it's tricky user interface, it is the de-facto constructionn industry planning tool. It's ugly, but to coin Apple's catch phrase, 'It just works'
Having said that, I would be a happy planner if they ported it to OS X!:-)
I'm with PCCW in Hong Kong. I wrote to them in August last year to complain about the spam situation as it was getting dire. They advised me to forward them all spam, with headers, so they could do something about it. I kept this up for a month or so without seeing any noticeable improvement or even a response from PCCW.
Last month out of 1260 e-mails received 126 were leg mate, the rest spam.:-(
I don't want to change my e-mail address, it's mine and has been for the past 5 years (not to mention they charge for this 'service')- and god knows I pay PCCW enough. Why the hell can't they do something about it?
*sigh*

This isn't an urban legend. It's a matter of liability.
The chances are that your phone will not cause an explosion, however, your phone is not Ex rated so there is always that possibility.
I'm not taking any chances though, so I'm gonna get one of these babies:

I posted a message to the BBC this morning with a link to this discussion, It seems they've brushed up on their facts since!
I saw two units for sale in Hong Kong at 8:00PM 8/3/00 (Hong Kong time) - unless it was a copy :)
