If it's not win for DRM, why are pirates comments generally like this:

I just came across some extra cash and, unless I get hit by lightning tommorow, I'm gonna go and buy the game.
I don't feel like waiting anymore for a crack, and since I've pirated every game I've ever played in my life, aside from ST:O, it won't be so bad if I shell out some money for this one, regardless of drm or not.

Seems like the DRM is working and pirates are turned customers.

Yes you can. And you could the day it was released. Matter of fact, I think it may even have been cracked and on the internet the day before Ubisoft released it. Research first, post second. It'll help you a lot in the future.

Or maybe you should research first. Like I noted to the first reply, those are broken cracks and don't work or are missing features.

Lay over some sand, wood, whatever and you have land again - or build those wooden houses on piers. Venice is also build on top of water in the middle of a lagoon.

I think Microsoft probably follows Commodore's Jack Tramiel policy: "Business is war," and in war anything is acceptable. Therefore they would view Google's leaving China as a victory, even if it means going-to-bed with the Chinese Socialist government.

Just like Google thinks that business is war too, then. They weren't going anywhere in China and decided it was too much trouble staying there. Remember that Google pretty much stopped gaining market share from Baidu. They did the next best thing - make it a PR campaign and try to gain love in western countries. Why do you think they're only bitching at China in English blogs and are now blaming Bing for staying in China? It's all PR.

this crack doesn’t work and the rlslog admins should delete this post. you can explore the city but won’t be able to start missions, also when you use the animus the game will freeze. what’s the point in speading a crack that does nothing good but let you play 5% of the game)?

    and also

Silent Hunter 5 is not 100% functional. No missions only training

So it's practically useless, and win for DRM.

Even if they don't fire him (I really doubt they will), I also don't think it will make neither Ubisoft or EA change their way. For example you still cant download Assassins Creed II and it has been out for almost an month already. Since that has been so large success for Ubisoft, it'll probably just make them continue using it (and fix their server problems) and make EA harden their DRM even more.

Isn't pirating for consoles still doable? If we stop making PC games will the pirates do the same for the consoles as they have done for the PC, if they're not already doing it?

That still hasn't worked out for PS3 after over 3 years (yeah there was some progress lately, but you still cant pirate). It's also a lot more technical and creates problems with firmware updates and so on with 360 and Wii. Casual users won't go for the trouble, but on PC it's a lot easier.

Putting it bluntly, tough shit. Obviously the people running YOUR country don't feel the same way, or there wouldn't BE a McDonalds and Starbucks on every corner. Where do you get off forcing YOUR views on all of YOUR other countrymen?

We do it here in the U.S. There are several small towns that just refuse to issue building permits to Walmart, McDonalds and the like. They want to preserve the "small town feel".

Hell, screw small towns. It is 2010 and Walmart is STILL trying to get permission to build a store in CHICAGO -- the 3rd largest city in the U.S.! Suburbs, yes. City, not yet.

I'm willing to bet your gov't isn't subsidizing McDonalds and American movies, etc. So the simple answer is DON'T SHOP THERE. Capitalism, in its basest form, works wonderfully. If you DON'T SHOP THERE then those stores will LOSE MONEY AND CLOSE. These mega corps close "under-performing" stores all the time.

"Imposed", ha! Help me out. Which country is it that sends in the secret police to put the gun to your head to watch American TV, American movies, buy American brands and eat at American fast-food stores? I'd like to see the tourist brochure.

Do you also support RIAA/MPAA etc suying private individuals for 3 000 000 million US dollar fines for getting a single song from P2P network?

How can your "native culture" be truly yours if it was "forced" on you? How too can exposure to different cultures within the US be construed as "imposed" on you?

Get the fuck out. Like the GP Alex Belits, I have also lived in Eastern Europe and Russia when my work required me to. It's true that US is trying to get the culture and influence around in those countries and I do not like it. I think every country should be able to practice their own historical culture without fucking Americans affecting it. And I am from a country that has highly changed it's ways to US standards.
