    Slash's guitar on appetite for distruction was a hand crafted replica of a Gibson made by a guy called Kris Derrig. Someone made something out of wood, they didn't walk into a guitar shop and pinch it. The guitar shop lost no money.

    The pirate bay is blocked in the UK due to allegedly supporting copyright infringement, so shouldn't both ebay and amazon be blocked for the same reason? I've never been sold anything fake off of TPB, but I've mistakenly bought loads of things from ebay and amazon that were marketed to me as being genuine e.g. sd cards, phone cases, cables etc. The bbc's "fake britain"tv program raised concerns about faked electrical items that can cause harm being sold on ebay/amazon, so... why isn't ebay and amazon being blocked for copyright infringement?

    we used to do that with landlines, back in the day. You'd connect to the dialling tone as fast as you could while you routed the call to its destination. The caller then thinks they're waiting for someone to pick up when they're in fact waiting for the routing to finish.

    most routers have an option of a guest access point. your pc and your IoT are then on different vlans. This would be a start.

    I've not watched all of the video, just a few minutes, but what I'm getting is that there's *no* (or some) overhead in using a modern C++ compiler over C? what am I missing? does it blow up later on in the video?
