Interesting they rate down the comments pages on bannination.com because they have stylesheets outside the document head, yet why i look at the code the stylesheets are where they are supposed to be... weird.
I've seen the flashy videos, but how easy is it to type on the damn thing without tactile feedback.
I've got a little T-Mobile Dash/ HTC Excalibur and i can actually type really quickly on its tiny keyboard. I find it hard to believe that without feedback it could be better.
As a graduate of Edinburgh, the clear difference from the US is that transatlantic bandwidth is expensive. The university doesn't want you pulling terabytes from the state because it's damn expensive. I am under the impression that most US universities are so ingrained in the internet backbone that they have excess bandwidth and don't have to protect it.
I found edinburgh didn't care too much about what you did so long as you stayed on JaNET, where they had 20Gb/s of bandwidth. You'd frequently find that your 100mbit ethernet connection or hard drive were the bottleneck on how fast you could share files. Of course most students were busy trying to run Napster or kazaa and leeching files across the atlantic:(
I've had a tivo for years and refuse to take the HD boxes that comcast are trying to peddle.
TivoToGo is the killer feature for me. I honestly don't care if it's only SD quality, i just can't justify "upgrading" to something that's missing features.
Transport costs are unlikely to ever be zero, you'll have to move stuff a few miles around the city to get it to stores and resturants.
Given that, this isn't going to be in a downtown area. Costs will mean it's much more likely to be in a depressed ex-industrial region - real estate will cost many times less and there will be a marginal transportation incerase.
I wonder how pollution will affect the quality of the produce. I do know there's a vineyard in Commerce City, Co in the shadow of a huge oil refinery and it makes some great wine.
The Prius may cost more than the Corolla, but it depreciates more slowly. Assuming you drive it for a few years and sell it, it'd be more cost effective to go with the Prius even if they got the same mileage.
Still it's not worth my time to go down to the police station once a year and fill out a police report when I can get my money back by a 5 minute phone call.
The bank in turn will indeed ask the merchant to prove that the charge was valid, and i've never known them to ever challenge the validity of any charge I've reversed.
"The process to create Ingeo makes use of the carbon naturally stored in plants by photosynthesis. Plant starches are broken down into sugars. The carbon and other elements in these natural sugars are then used to make a biopolymer through a process of simple fermentation and separation. The resulting resin, called NatureWorks(TM) PLA, can then be spun or extruded into Ingeo for use in textiles."
They need every bit of light they can get because the sensors are so small. Resolution and color depth aren't really a problem in that space, but brightness really is.
An implanted vibrator that would allow me to securely send data from my phone to someone elses phone. Really, how often does bluetooth actually fail to beam a business card?
Also I'd expect that the vibrations would exit through your feet and allow for snooping from ground based devices.
I can see the potential in the medical device field.
Called up some random company that was listed on my statement to inquire about a charge and the call went roughly along these lines...
Me: I'm seeing a recurring charge for $21.99 on my credit card and the number is listed next to it Rep: Yes that's for a website Me: Umm which website Rep: I think you know sir Me: I really don't. I buy quite a lot of stuff on-line but don't recognize this charge Rep: I think i'd better spell that for you b-l-a-c-k-c-o-c-k-d-o-w-n dot com. Me: Yeah, that's not authorized Rep: Is your wife authorized to use the card, perhaps she signed up Me: Really dont think so
They then had the audacity to ask my to file a police report. I threatened to call chase and have the charges reversed and they eventually backed down.
In the process they did actually reveal the IP address that was used to sign up, although naturally I had a list of all the IPs that comcast had assigned me in the last 6 months to refute that with.
I already feel that my digital rebels have remarkably low noise sensors and give me better results that shooting Velvia 50 and scanning. Still I usually carry a tripod and shoot at virtually never shoot at high ISO so it doesn't really affect me.
I expect this will have more value in cellphone cameras. Typically the noise floor goes up when the sensor shrinks, and increasing the brightness without increasing noise would be a massive boon for most cellphone photographers.

They acutally have a tiny vineyard and produce a few "Denver" wines - most of their grapes do come from the western slope
I pay $7/month for my service. Granted I bought one of the first series 2 boxes (when they were ~$300) and ran at least a year at $12/month.
If they've broken even on you then it's likely they'll off favorable pricing instead of losing you to a cable company dvr.

Do you really expect that they can't have the rules changed to say that a common carrier can filter illegal content?
I'm sure they make enough political contributions that they have nothing to worry about.
I'm sure they have a few senators in their back pocket. Rules like that don't apply to huge corporations.

Yes they are.
The food containers compost and apparently the socks do too.
I've not experienced any biodegrading of my socks thankfully.
Really they stole from Chase/Visa. It wasn't my money.
I don't see why i should have to go to the trouble of filing a police report every time my card is used without my permission
Here's what wiki says on the matter:

Burning something that was grown to be burned is the very essence of "carbon-neutral", not the credit-buying al gore approach.
The plant takes in CO2 when it grows and gives it out when it's burned.
NatureWorks - sorry i had html off
NatureWorks have been producing plastics from corn for quite a few years now.
Their food containers look just like traditional ones and i've got a few pairs of Teko Ingeo socks that are really comfortable.
It's certainly an interesting field
We're using to "beaming" ecards to one another. The zune lets you "squirt" things.
Logically we'd have to say "Let me bone you my business card", and i'm not sure i like that.
Right now I have a T-Mobile Dash, before that a Nokia 6660 and before that a Samsung S300.

Cross talk would be a killer if you tried to put a DC in a graveyard using low frequency FSK signalling.
Bass frequencies tend to travel through anything dense.
