    Isn't using a Palm PC to cruise the web kind of like using a hand drill when you need a blowtorch when you need to drill a hole? Just use the Palm for what it is meant to be used: as a security blanket for when you can't be at a desktop pc.

    Try running VB on an IBM 3090. AFAIK, it just doesn't work.

    If you had TB, you'd beg to trade it for a common cold. Anti-biotic resistant TB is a very scary thing, much more so than, say AIDS. AIDS you can sidestep through safe-sex, not re-using needles, etc. TB can be caught in public places with no contact from the person who sneezed up to 3 hours ago. My grandfather died from TB

    This makes a lot of sense. OS/2's big claim was that it ran Windows Applications "better than Windows". But, I think, people then think "why not just get Windows if running windows app's is what we want". With Window's source running rampant I am suprised that someone hasn't put it out on the net where everyone can grab it. assuring you that your code will run on UNIX exactly as it does on NT. Yeah, crashes alot and runs slow

    I think that it would be more likely that other competitors of that day would have been in a better position to compete and to expand their platforms. The Mac, which was always expensive, would have gained more acceptance. If the IBM were the only x86 game in town, the price would have been kept high, allowing for more sales of Mac's. The Apple II and Comodore would have continued to capture the home market. Clones meant more "action " for everybody and kept the price lower, meaning dad could buy the PC for the home that he uses at the office.

    Just my opinion and a darn good one at that!

    I disagree. I don't think you would *see* a car traveling that fast. I think it would pass without you noticing it. This is ~52 miles per second.

    And another thing, how can you get too excited about the prospects of a company who's main product can be copied and and sold as if it were your own. They lost money last year. They charge $80 and cheapbytes charges $2. What's they $78 for? service? The nice book and box?

    I understand free but I don't understand RH selling stock.

    I use NT everyday and almost never have a problem. I don't have a choice and would rather use Linux for the experience (and do at home) but NT just aint that bad. You musta had somekind of HW problem, geekboy.

    porn sites have a URL xxx://sleaze.com and make it eazier to filter. Let the sites rate and police themselves. Informational sites about breasts could be weeded out from titilating site. What we have now is akin to having a porn store in Walmart, right in the face of people who don't want to see it. That would never happen and so shouldn't this. We need a change, now.

    I don't think it was the Mac. The Xerox Star came with a crisp and clear 21" B&W monitor in 1983. The idea then was to have a large desktop that you could put two documents side by side.

    You may give the Mac credit for bringing someone else's idea to the massess and thats about all. Not that I don't love 'em. I just bought a Mac SE onepiece at a yard sale for $10. Great little computer for WP and such.
