It wasn't a "cloning machine" so much as a "transporting machine" with a few "unintended side-effects" i.e. duplication of the transportee.

  2. Dell BT combo on Bluetooth Versus Wireless Mice · · Score: 1

My Dell Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Bundle will occasionally "drop out" for no apparent reason. Each device dies separately and takes about 5 second to reconnect. The keyboard will occasionally get stuck with whatever key I was hitting in the "down" state, often Backspace, which erases everything I was typing. This leads to loud "aw aw aw!" outbursts, which confuse and annoy my co-workers. For the record, I did not pay $90 for the damn thing either. Dell gave us several as promotional gift a when they came out because we ordered several dozen desktops and laptops.

  3. Re:Great on Linux Boxee Users Get Hulu Relief · · Score: 5, Informative

This has nothing to do with Boxee. Hulu does not stream content outside the United States because the content is provided by US television networks. (I'm not saying I agree with this, but that is certainly the rationalization.)

Until they stop selling albums with an "it is illegal to make copies of this disc" warning, I'm still going to assume that it is illegal to make copies of those discs.

Piracy is just like shagging your sister: just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Correction: you bought a license to use Word "back in '98". You in no way "own" that piece of software. Microsoft "owns" it.

I want nothing to do with this "cloud computing" bullsnot. It sounds like nothing but trouble. There's too much of this "putting your eggs in one basket" mentality floating around, as if dumping all of our resources into the Internet and browser-based software is somehow going to save us from... what, exactly? I fail to see the point.

But in the end, professionals use Photoshop.

Simply using Photoshop because it's Photoshop and "it's what the professionals use" is dumb, and a follow of blind faith. The company I work for has been using GIMP more often for our projects, and our clients don't know the difference. The end result looks exactly the same. I don't doubt that we will drop Photoshop altogether once our licensing expires.
