    just found bulldogdsl new offering - 4mbps + phone line for £40./..

    enyone heard any good/bbad about this>??

    Incidentally you cvan now get £10 a month with all national calls included as a landline package in the UK (just signed up for mine)

    i know americans have had SMS for a while coz i used to text back and forth cross the atlantic to a friend of mine. here though i believe we have ALWAYS had it as long as the phones.

    IIRC sms was designed as a technical tool to send system messages and its value as an end user tool wasn't exploited until later.

    My first phone (1996/7) was able to send, receive texts

    That explains then why i can opnly get 512k broadband at an extortionate cost in Uk whilst my american chums are mostly on 2.5mb and above

    Cost can be calculate din many ways. Sure the first choose your own adventure book was prolly cheap to write, but tooke years of someones life, plus the gambles involved in pushing the product.

    Yours is just an argument that the rich should stay rich and the poor stay poor.

    A poor man can create a brilliant product in his shed from everyday items... but as he couldnt afford to do it with a big budget he earns no protection for his ideas??

    Im sorry, for a minute there i thought you were justifying parents not having time to keep tabs on their kids. Only reason I have to keep tabs on my kids is coz they go round to somebody's house like you who feels you dont have to watch your children, therefore overruling everything I have tried to teach.

    This is not to start an argument, but im extremely curious.

    Do club doormen (bouncers) search you there?

    In the UK they have the right to refuse you entry if you refuse search.

    I tried that in a Candian Casino once and it din't work (i didnt even think of taking my passport) - great thing is they let 5 canucks i was with in under fake id's - i was the only one over 21.

    Even worse was in LA when I couldnt buy alcohol at 20 even though i been legally drinking in bars at home for 2 years (not an ID thinkg or evfen related, just annoyed me is all)

    Just maybe people from differing societies place different values their own "individual right to self government".

    I'm not saying it is so, but differences societally, philosophically, culturally and to a small extent genetic probably develop different drives in a population.

    But various revolts in China would indicate people do wish to drive their own future, but this needn't necessarily be on the terms we judge to be right.
