    The person stating the facts should have to back them up, your suggestion that we go and "prove" you arguments is lame at best.

    A us gun lobbyist (KC3) is not really the best source for UK gun stats.. try some UK sites. Trust me those you find will obfuscate the truth as much as the US sites do (from both angles) but at least they are stats frompeople here, with info

    As for the bill of rights, it is a completely different document here due to common law superceeding ancient statute.

    i believe similar technology already exists in Japan for finding the karaoke song of your choice (hum the song, the karaoke machine finds it). so pre-existing patents are guaranteed.

    not sure of this so if any japanese geeks know more, please inform me...

    Interestingly, clothe these people in football (soccer) kits, move location to wembley ticket office, include the mindset that eats from plates with club logo and drinks from mugs with club logo (also the wallpapers, bedsheets etc)

    and you have a socially accepted soccer fan

    As an aside most of the "poor" people I know are the ones whop got the large TV's and latest DVD machines. I'm comfortably middle class and quite happy with 5 uk trerrestrial channels on a 24inch box

    wow, more caps than i thought. I believe ukonline and bulldog are bot free from caps too.

    on a side note.. 12 months ago i couldnt get >512 now i have 5 or 6 company's can give 2-4mb (line dependant). this rocks. Any idea what legal/technical change bought this sudden upgrading of UK bandwidth?

    I'm not really trying to make anything look better than any other, just get fed up with all the linux geeks who obviously run the IT world, yet have managed to convert a fraction of the world to THEIR "better" solution.

    I personally use and enjoy both, running allmy services and downloading chores on the linux workhorse, and doing my web development and gaming on the windows box. (oh yeah, i have a mac too so i can tech support my media dwelling sister)

    I know it has been said a 1000 times before, but IM FED UP WITH THE CONSTANT COMPARISSONS!!!!... so i thought if ya can't beat em join em.

    At the end of the day a large amount of the free software bundled with linux dists is no better than "cover disk" freebies and is often about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

    anyhow, that's my .02

    Why would you wanna do that. then youd have to realise that XP comes on a single CD unlike the 4 redhat disks i got for linux (yep, windows geek, linux fiddler, and happy to be that way)

    bulldog seems to offer a no cap package.

    Also apprecatied is the lack of "you suck" comment or some such.

    (FTR, I am on a blisteringly fast work connection and havent had the time/inclination to look at upgrading my home connect for a while - still on my original 25.99 a month 512kbps Virgin.net package) Am amazed at the increase in speeds available in the UK (even in non-london locations) since i last looked a year ago.
