Uh, if you don't play 3D games, you probably don't need to buy a 3D video card, do you? Just like if you don't drive in demanding road conditions, you don't need 4 wheel drive.
Using that logic, how do you explain all the soccer mums with their Explorers and Suburbans? I bet the most demanding driving condition they get is driving up the kerb into their driveway...
Back to the topic... I think the previous poster was trying to point out that all gamers have been lumped into a group and they all need a 3D card, cos 'you need it'.
I personally have a Celeron 500 with a TNT 2 and I am very happy with my 64 fps in Quake 3...
Most people out there have no idea what to do, when they get a tyre blow out.
I think I would trust a low cost implementation of this and take my chances, rather than deal with most of the shithouse, cornflake packet licence holders out there...
At least they aint gonna waste the computer on NASCAR...
I really don't understand all the hype over Transmeta. Just because one person, admittedly a fairly smart person, joined the company to help them write some software, doesn't mean the company should be held in the same regard.
Linus has proved his worth and has a reputation that could hardly be sullied. Maybe he took the job at Transmeta for the money and the challenge of what they were trying to do, not whether they would produce something useful.
Till I see a Crusoe powered notebook or appliance for sale it is still vapourware.
The fact I was referring to his spelling mistake seemed to escape you... I was merely putting a lighthearted spin on a small mistake.
There are a fair few Americans, not all, that get so up tight when even the smallest joke is made at their expense. Learn to laugh at yourselves will you.
And about the Australian Navy, they dont pretend they have any power, because they dont, all they do is round up boat people and save stupid french solo yachtspeople that always seem to get stuck close to our territory. In a war the RAN could only protect one city, probably Sydney (waste of time I say). Even the RAAF couldnt help much...
To sum up, learn to take some criticism.

Invasion of privacy? Get real, you are in a public place that is owned by another person/business, you have no privacy.
If they want to film you shopping to help them with product placements to maximise sales and profits, that is their right to do so.
Grow your own food in your backyard if you want privacy about what food you eat.
Censorship of any kind is a job for parents, not community
I agree with you there, but this restriction of sales to minors allows the parents to control what their children buy much better. If the restriction is not set then any kid with the cash can buy SoF.
With the restriction in place the parent has to buy the game for their child, much harder for little Johnny to fool his parents into buying a game he says is about 'plastic army men' if it has a 'R' rating on the box.
The HSV GTS looks like a big piece of colourful plastic...
I agree that it doesnt sound like a V8 on full song, it sounds much better...
I find it best to get into work at 6-6:30 am at least 3 hours before anyone else gets here, and finish at 4 pm.
The benefits to this are:
I reckon a great benefit would be subsidised sports club memberships, that would save me a bit on my golf fees...

Would you have ignored the Wright brothers too?

I do both...
:)
But I always have been a strange gekk
He is honest tho :)
YES! STAR TREK! Some people actually LIKE it.
Surprising really... Do people really think all problems can be solved in the space of one epsiode, in some cases 2 episodes?
Flamebait???
Taco, are you handing out crack to the moderators again?
Already been done... remember the camera the could be swallowed and digested...

Yes, but Linus works there.
Still makes it vapourware...
Did anyone else notice they had WinAMP installed, nice to see M$ workers have the same faith in Media Player as the rest of us :)
Further OT...
And Hungry Jacks will slowly be changing over to Burger King in the next few years because the Oz BK went broke and the US BK bought the company
Just like MS Service Packs. All the even numbered ones dont seem to fix any bugs, just add more 'features', the odd numbered ones improve things.
I agree, here in Oz advertisers are doing quite well with .com.au, I dont see why the US doesnt use .com.us.

The United States Navel Observatory
Is that what the US Navy do in their spare time?
I reckon they could auction off the pressing of a 'button' to start the descent of a satellite over a certain area.
:)
Wouldnt it be cool to press the button one night and the satellite leaves a nice trail over your town.
I would pay for that...
A good quality HP laser printer and a TrueType font was sufficient for a project I worked on for scanning in commissioned pieces of a ship.
This troll never gives up does he...
Wait till the sun comes out... Or Gandalf arrives.
But Natalie Portman and the word 'Rise' go together quite well...

If they dont have to outsource anything then that mistake wouldn't have happened...
