Absolutely. I live in Texas and my school district just sold a bond to build a 58million dollar stadium. It is amazing and stupid.

Yes indeed this is the model that IT departments should be aiming for. I have worked at corporate places that do have "developer" access and it worked well, if you can't manage your own machine it gets taken away.

  3. Re:Old news? on Are We Seeing the End of Big Oil? · · Score: 1

    This is spot on.

Exploration and Production is High Margin
Refining and distribution is Mediocre Margin

If the Oil trading group acts to maximize the profit, it could be at the disadvantage of the refining and distribution operations. It is a very very complex supply chain. This break up will allow Refining and distribution to maximise their own margin without regard for the upstream supply chain.

I agree with your mugging situation, you should never mess around with a gun pointed at you, regardless it is a stupid question, like the MA expert is going to try and teach some retard how to disarm a man at a self-defense course.

Or would you rather have them say, "I knew this was going to happen, and you would be affected this way, and I made the decision regardless. It was a tough decision, but it was the best damn decision I could've made. And basically you weren't here to show us a better decision and it's water under the bridge now. I know you won't care about what I have to say because you can't see past your own problems, so I won't bother explaining. Just get it out of your system and let us move on to more important things."

Shit, get real. What about the other options:

    - Didn't know that bad shit was going to happen (incompetent),

    - Didn't plan properly (lazy and/or stupid)

    - Ulterior motives (corrupt, personal vendetta). .

I can see why they wouldn't want to take personal responsibility for these things, your reason is simplistic. Quite often there are people with more expertise available while the decisions are being made, they are ignored because they get in the way.

No, personally I would be more conviced by someone rising from the dead. Of course since this is in the bible it must be true;)
