What chaos? I've owned a Desire since April. I've never had the SMS problem, and the only software that didn't work for me was alpha software I downloaded outside the Marketplace. Because I chose to. By default, that capability is disabled---you have to unclick a box to get that capability, so your average Joe won't hurt himself.
Pink Floyd's first releases were singles ("See Emily Play", "Arnold Layne"). There was also a single of "Whole Lotta Love" that's incredibly rare, and "Stairway to Heaven" had a 45 that was sent out to radio stations, not available to the public.
The point is, they were bands who sold incredible numbers of records without being single-driven.
King Crimson's albums weren't concept albums. The individual songs were written individually and stand on their own. Unless you're talking about how some of the individual tracks were broken into sections, like Epitaph (including "March for No Reason" and "Tomorrow and Tomorrow"), which is not even remotely like what Pink Floyd was doing (having every song segue into the next, having entire albums conceived as one concept).
Ummm...you might want to take a look at their sales figures before yo say that. Pink Floyd's one of the best-selling groups in all history. They and Led Zeppelin achieved those numbers without the help of singles.
Um, buddy, those figures only go up to the FIRST QUARTER of 2010. If you haven't noticed, it was the rest of 2010 in which consumers began to give a shit about Android (bought my Desire in April---that's Q2).
There's nothing that needs to be modified in an Android phone to get it to work. It "just works" out of the box. My Desire even had things like Facebook and Twitter set up (even though I don't use them).
Is there seriously anyone out there who finds their Android phone any harder to use than an iPhone?
Just because you can modify the phone doesn't mean you have to.
I've posted elsewhere about Japan's active struggle for democracy going back to the 1880's. There was an active movement towards democracy going back to the 1880s, they had a directly elected House of Representatives since 1889 and universal male suffrage from 1925. Democracy hardly needed to be "forced" on them. They only needed the Emperor, etc, to finally be stripped of the power they wielded.
The people of Japan had been fighting for democracy since the 1880s with the establishment of the Jiyuu Minken Undou (Freedom and People's Rights Movement). The Imperial Diet was established in 1889 with a directly elected House of Representatives, and universal male suffrage came about in 1925.
Their democracy may not have been as liberal as that of the US, but it was hardly foreign to the nation.
It might be more reasonable to let them know when they can open them up, and when they should be closed/put away. Y'know, like when you have the students put their textbooks in their bag during a test, or have them put their pencils down when they're supposed to be focusing their attention at the front of the class.
It might be more reasonable to allow the students to bring their laptops, and then let them know when it's okay to have them out and when it's not. Y'know, like when you have them put their textbooks away during tests or have them put their pencils down when they're supposed to be watching something.
It wasn't that long ago. I'm a 33-year-old Canadian and I remember that.

I mean, even if he thought so, what are the chances that he actually said.
Smells of bullshit to me.
This time I got modded down. What should I do to get modded sideways?

Awesome! If calling timothy an asshole gets me modded insightful, what do I get for calling him a communist faggot?
timothy, you're an asshole.
If there was a law to prevent radio stations from playing the songs, maybe they would have.
Why let other bands cover individual songs from your albums?
Because there's no law to stop people from covering songs (as long as they pay the appropriate royalties).

That Libertarians are like Jehova's Witnesses---they're so desperate to get a word in, they'll even reply to a sig!

The awesomest Android app I've come across so far that's not available for the iPhone is Gmote.
I got Froyo OTA on my Desire from Softbank three or four months ago.

I'd vote for Michael Palin!
But isn't he a long-standing member of the Very Silly Party?
Even adults could use hints here and there.

I didn't. It's called "sarcasm".
Care to back that up?

It's really sad that this post is nested so deep and so late in the conversation that there's no hope of it possibly being up-modded...
