Short answer: Because at the end of the day, having a high-profile and appealing sports program makes them a lot more money than they invest in it.
Hold the phone. These days, the athletic departments are entirely separate organizations from the school they're affiliated with. They have separate websites, budgets, the whole nine yards. They're in charge of selling the tickets, merchandise, etc. How would the university benefit from any of that?
Ridiculous. I shouldn't have to pay $5 every time I need to ward off some idiot that's changing lanes without looking. Just today, I had to do that twice.
Has anyone ever had a controlled experiment where having the full paid for version of Symantec or AVG actually provided more security than their free counterparts?
Has anyone done a controlled experiment to prove that antivirus software does anything at all?
I work in an IT office, and despite loading antivirus software on everyone's computer, it doesn't seem to do anything to stop people coming in every week with some sort of easily avoidable infection
I thought this was pretty common on the internet, no? If something is outlawed in my state, I can probably go online and buy from a manufacturer that is based in another state. They shouldn't be stopped from shipping it here.
If they're selling online, how are they to control the residence of the people who buy their products? What's to stop people from setting up a PO box in another state to take delivery?
The problem is with Apple trying to assert control over how people use their product after they've sold it.
This is the problem that Apple (Steve) sees with open platforms. When something is open, people will be stupid enough to screw up all the work they put in to make the device perfect. He doesn't want that happening.
There's lots of large cities and several great colleges in the southeast that will produce plenty of people who want to work there. Some people like the small town feel.
Not idiots, but ignorant. You can't blame them for that.
You've got that the wrong way around. You can't blame someone for being mentally impaired, but you can blame someone for not using their perfectly good brain.
Something did get done. Look at the graph of BP stock. Zoom to 1 year and notice the huge dip following april 20th. They (and their stockholders) did lose money over this...
So what? Money is meaningless. Take away something that matters: life, liberty, or happiness.
Egypt's military has been the source of power for decades, so this is not like Tunisia where the military will just stand idly by.
This just in: the military is standing by while the people exercise their right to revolution.
I thought LIVE was trademarked too.
Not quite as generic as "Windows" though, eh Microsoft?
Not really. It's not like they trademarked "Operating System". That would be a closer analogy.
I dunno. I thought the design on the concrete one was awesome.
Harassing this guy is just more proof that the TSA has absolutely nothing to do with keeping people safe.
Well, that depends. Creating the feeling of 'safety' inside people's heads is easier than actually making them safe.

At low speeds, I don't think the tires make enough noise to be heard all the time, especially on smooth/new pavement.
Last time I checked they still taught "FIRST look left, THEN look right, THEN cross the streets" to our kids, did they forgo that in your country?
I thought it was "Stop, look, and listen"
It is, but nobody wants to look up the symbol every time they type it.
Men like doing what they want. Women like being told what to do.

Politics wrecks lives, like a show where you are forced to live with the bad outcome
We already have that; it's C-SPAN.
Why stop at just 2? Up the ante and go to 16.
Because they figured no one has that much porn.
Sorry, I'm a Top Gear guy
whats not to like :-)
Dr. Who

They're telling a Chinese manufacturer to obey California Civil Code? Good luck with that.

you better bring them something they can't resist.
Hookers? Yes.. Every Windows Phone 7 should come with a free hooker.

Larry Boucher intended SCSI to be an acronym all along. Pronounced "sexy." That didn't quite happen. I still think you're sexy, Larry.
Did he spend all night mating cables, too?
