Everyone from the DC area knows how shady these guys are. They jack up prices on imports and run a general unethical business. Even to the point of offering VHS with current in theater movies for sale. PLus they are rude
I don't know if you can donate to it, but VH1 runs a charity type thing called save the music to help music programs in public schools. That might not sound that geeky, but research shows that kids exposed to music are able to visualize and understand mathematical concepts related to ratios and fractions, which is geeky. I think they donate musical instruments to troubled music programs so that schools don't hae to buy their own, and that way the music program won't be a cut corner when they have to find some funding

I think what happened was that the sales for the widescreen version of the VHS weren't as high as expected. Lucas and the folks at Fox and Lucasfilm probably expected that the DVD people would shell out the $35 for the widescreen "collector's edition" since we are willing to pay that much for DVD's anyway. He doesn't seem to understand that once you've had DVD, you don't go back. So he probably figured that in order to get any money from us DVD people before 2006 he'd have to release a DVD
I think less people then expected bought the wide screen version of the movie. It's like $35 and comes with a little book, so they probably thought that DVD people would pay for it since they pay that much for DVDs sometimes. But I'm not going to spend that much on a VHS!
Look, you are not gonna get Linux into your school, ok? You might be able to get actual unix though, companies are usually happy to donate old terminals and stuff. Make it a project to get an old terminal working. Anyway, you can't get Linux in your highschool, IT IS NOT USER FRIENDLY, you use Linux right? Now imagine your Mom trying to use it,(I don;t know about your mom, but my mom couldn't even figure out how to check her mail with telnet when OutLook stopped working) now imagine Cheerleader Susie(with apologies to cheerleaders, som of whom are quite intelligent) or Joe Jock (no apologies, jocks are dumb) trying to figure out that "dir" doesn't work. You would definetly be able to start a Linux club, but don't expect to be given any equipment from the school
Why did any sonmg from South Park get nominated? The movie was funny, but this was not the brilliant piece of satire everyone claims it to be. I mean come on, it goes the easy way to get a laugh. Any idiot can say "Fuck fuck, shit shit, your mom is a bitch", and eventually you'll laugh. The movie at certain points was being purposefully offenisve(Gandi in hell, what the fuck).
