    Then why were you using other methods to measure its quality? You can't call me wrong when I was using your metrics in my own assessment. Further, we don't know that the essay didn't lose the author some points, just that she didn't lose enough by it to be rejected. Are you being intentionally ridiculous?

    As mentioned above, that is no different from every other ISP. The major difference between Verizon and Comcast is that Verizon is actually investing in infrastructure to make those times when you don't reach maximum speeds to be the exception, while Comcast is actively trying to create a tiered system and throttle bandwidth without actually reinvesting any of their revenue into making your connection reach its peak advertised performance. What you got from reading your Verizon DSL service agreement was anything but what really matters.

    Are you being ironic? His reading comprehension is fine. You cannot be "x times smaller" than something because it is relative to a ceiling of infinity. Draw it on a number line: 10 is ten times larger than 1 because it is ten times farther from 0 on a number line. 1 is ten times less than x because it is ten times farther from y on a number line. Go on, fill in the values for x and y.

    The article is about Firefox, and yet it is shown, in the only quantifiable test that the author conducted, to rank third in a three-horse race against its two speed competitors.
