If you install Windows Vista or 7 from CD, it will recognize your graphics card and install a driver for it that was current at the time. Assuming your graphics card isn't a completely new platform, you will get full color and resolution on first install (though maybe not with up-to-date drivers).
Works on every computer I've clean installed for both Vista and 7.
+1. GPL'd software can be ethically sold if the source is available. Head out to Fry's and check out the shelves of Linux distributions and OpenOffice packages available for sale even though they are free to download.
Serif fonts offer increased readability for native English speakers. People who have picked up English as a second language do better with sans serif fonts.
well, you do pretty much claim complete security and infallability. Or how many years after a kernel is released is the "thousand eyes" theory of code review supposed to kick in?
As far as I'm concerned, the concept of a one-time use DVD is not flawed. With the exception of the waste created, it's like renting a DVD or ordering pay-per-view.
However, the problem with Circuit City's Divx was that their DVD's could not be played on normal DVD players, and their Divx disks did not include many of the extras that normal DVD's had, such as director's commentaries.
my account was "Free" - I take that to be ad-free, $-free, and free to use whatever client application I want as long as I don't abuse their servers
Then you were mistaken.

Well Microsoft owns the servers that run Hotmail (and Passport, and MSN, and so on) so should they force everyone to use IE to check their Hotmail accounts?
Sure, they could if they wanted to. It's their choice.
By using Linux, you are exercising you're right to choose. And apparently, you choose not to want to play WMA. If it's that big a deal for you, you always have the right to choose again.
Freedom does not mean that your "choice" has all the pros and none of the cons.
Well, you could've invited the volunteer organization to campus and demoed the PHP/MySQL combo from a University Lab that could connect to your dorm room.
Or, you could visit them and dial in to your campus.
And the academic usefulness of this is still not answered.
Imagine Senator X trying to filibuster a bill, when he realizes that he can't speak into a microphone without having to register his speech beforehand so that it could play over the Congress loudspeakers.
CompUSA had a simple Linux package for this: A simple GUI installer for a standalone Linux firewall. Install and go, then forget about it. I forget who makes it though.
The best example of the commaderie between Indians and Pakistanis is when I visited the border and saw the border patrol on both sides put on a show - afterwards, all the Indians and Pakistanis tried to shake hands, and I was impressed.
But, much more common, are my family: cousins who feel that Pakistan and Pakistanis are the mortal enemy. People on the "Hindu Students Council" listserv who would shoot a Pakistani on sight, people who were relocated on during partition who will not have anything to do with Pakistan, parents who will not let their Indian children date Pakistanis. This, much more than the first, colors my view of India/Pakistan relations.
I think this is a GREAT thing! Sure, YOU may not want to talk to that 14 year old from India, but get him talking with a 14 year old from Pakistan and see how long it takes for those two kids to realize they have a lot in common. When you have all the kids growing up and talking to eachother, maybe they can make a difference in their countries' relations.
Dude, I so wish this could happen. Unfortunately, the hate and rhetoric run so deep between the two countries that it has trickled down to the kids. Both countries' children believe that the other country is a mortal enemy, and it would be difficult for two anonymous IM'ers to not get past this hate. If the internet can help even a few Indians and Pakistanis realize how foolish the war is, then this project is more than worth it.
Since I don't keep any addresses in my Outlook Contacts List, it couldn't spread, no matter how much I prodded with it. The encryption was kinda cool, but the guy I got it from was apologizing profusely to all his clients.
PSX 2 will play old PSX 1 games, but will not enhance them in any way, other than faster loading times. Bleem!Dreamcast will increase the resolution of Playstation games, and improve some other visual qualities, sacrificing compatibility with various PSX 1 titles. That's partially why only 400 games will be working witht the various Bleem releases.

It's been like that since I can remember.
Why would that be such a bad thing?
Insurance is all about risk aggregation. It is not a subsidy. Why should the riskier people get subsidized by less risky people?
The reckless should *have* to pay more for their insurance. It's only fair.

Calling the masses "stupid". You must love democracy.
Excel rocks (more so than your favorite OSS spreadsheet). It really is some good stuff for analyzing numbers.
Try embedding a spreadsheet in RTF, and get back to us
Alright, so I did. Embedded an Excel sheet into and RTF file made in WordPad, then opened it up in Word. Worked fine...
It's hard to start selling something again after you give it away.
Well, Microsoft did give away Money 95 (and Outlook 98 for a limited time).
One of my kids from summer camp was IM'ing me and was using these alternate spellings. The problem was the alternate spelling of "come" :
"will u cum to camp next year?"
"please cum"
Some things should be fixed before they go too far.

And another format that I can't play back.

As the writeup states, the Linux drivers for this Token Ring card were written by the manufacturer.
All the incremental updates from 98 to 98SE were free. There were, however, some new features added that could justify a new product.

Perhaps your experience is different from mine.

PSX2 does not enhance PSX1 games.
*If* the XBox has good RPG's, you wouldn't play them simply because Sqauresoft doesn't make them?
Oh, and Bleem! may just make a PSX emulator for the XBox, and Bleem! does enhance games.

This isn't new, it's not a LOVEBUG variant.
