there isn't a partial of this story on the/. frontpage. but I think that the idea of the iPaq as a gaming console might be well and all but i think the Toshiba stylistic 3400 would be a much more viable mobile gaming platform.
I believe that the x-box will not be able to compete with the PSX2 for one major reason: PSX2 is designed to do 3d gaming while the x-box is a computer with 3d gaming in mind. While the x-box is definitely impressive, a computer with a geforce2, lots of RAM and a fast proc will generate approximately the same performance.
I agree that the bit or byte is probably the one most deceptive things ever. It seems like pretty much everyone can get a least 4 KB/s when downloading, so why are connection speeds still measured in bits, plus if people that designed dial-up adapters diplayed the connection speed in Bytes then there wouldn't be so much consumer confusion over why their 56k connection can only transfer at 5.4kB/s..
while this may be true...My name actually is the name of the "graphic short" (comic strip) that was the basis of The Terminator. (and it's Ranxxerox Burn!) I really have no idea why I am posting this, but oh well...
I'm sorry to say, but of the eight resposes, 1 was on topic. I don't think I've ever seen that poor of a showing on/. And, when you come to think of it, it seems as if no one is following the unspoken/. rules.

this could be just like RDRAM; increase in bandwidth along with a greater increase in latency

Cryptography is interesting to us geeks because it is the combination of two things that we love: mathematics and programming.
