I'll say this though, I'd pay good money never to have to play with some of the evil brats I've met in MMOG's.

No kidding. I'd like to see Blizzard implement a age limit for some servers. Failing that, I'd like to see guilds that enforce an age limit somehow.

    I'm not sure it's leetspeak; I think it's just a poorly-designed font.

I seem to remember older typewriters didn't have a '1' key; you were expected to use the 'l' (lower-case L) to type a '1'.

Nonetheless, it's easy to see how that could be read as a '1' in the middle; it looks goofy.

  4. Re:My company uses tomcat exclusively on Who is Using Tomcat or Jetty in Production? · · Score: 5, Interesting

My experience is almost exactly the same. We started using tomcat during development because it was free, and found that it performed well enough that we were confident moving into production with it. Restart times are not an issue for us; we can schedule resource drops for times when system use is minimized.

During load testing, we mucked about with the same tomcat parameters mentioned above, specifically thread count (starting and max) and heap size.

One last note: with versions 4.x of Tomcat, we've found that Tomcat is quick enough at serving up static content that we don't need to put Apache into the mix.

As others have pointed out, all sponsored links on Google as marked as such. For example, the "enhanced text link" thingy is in a separate table cell with a different background colour, clearly marked as a sponsored link. And their AdWords ads appear off to the side, also marked as sponsorships.

I use Google regularly (exclusively, I guess), and I have no problem ignoring these sponsored results. They pretty much fall into my banner-ad blind spot.

I think the point of the original article is that other search engines may not be as open about which links are ads.

Finally, I was able to open the sponsor ads in a new window. I'm at work, using IE, and the "Open in New Window" context menu works just fine. Results may vary by browser, I guess.

    (more spoilers....)
I worked it out like this:
    1. Marky-Mark leaves Apeworld and flies "home".
    2. Without the distracting presence of MM, Thade is able to take over the planet again. The human revolution lasts about twenty minutes. A society of super-monkeys rules once again.
    3. Thade then gets bored, develops space flight (possibly by studying MM's crashed scout ship), goes through the time-space wormhole thingy.
    4. Due to a Plot Twist, Thade arrives on Earth in, say, 1750. He has enough time to mold the primitive Earth society into into a second monkey planet.
    5. By the time Marky-Mark shows up again, Thade has become revered as a hero in the monkey society.
    Step 2) is optional.
