Indian telecom is WAY behind on Data, but calls and SMS are one of the lowest in the world. ( incoming SMS are actually free nationwide, and incoming calls statewide)
I am not sure, but the difference between the way it works in India(though its on the phone and not online) and US, is that in India you call up your local supermarket/grocery store, and they deliver.
In US, you order from a company like Amazon, where Amazon needs to set up a seperate delivery infrastructure, which is not needed if you live within 15 mins of the supermarket.
Perhaps UK follows something similar to the Indian model and not the US model?
My laptop has a 65W power adapter.
If the USB ports are rated for 100W, I would need a 365W power adapter(3 USB ports), and a battery capable of discharging at the higher rates.
So, would only people who can easily carry 10+ kg with them all the time have laptops?
The well off dont get subsidized internet connections
OTOH this could be their plan for increasing non oil (tourism) revenue
Virus writers discover OOP??

How much stuff do you purchase without hours of research and knowing the full detail on what you are getting?
Only the very trivially priced stuff
India requires any internet connection being called broadband to meet certain conditions, such as
i) Always On
ii)Minimum speed of 256kbps
Arent there similar conditions in US??
I guess that by eliminating the demand, they would eliminate the supply as well
But, this way verizon can spend less on infrastructure, and people dont really have another choice
Compare US telecom to Indian telecom..

is usenet more complex than torrents?
cause with torrents and magnet, i can just go to tpb, search, click on the magnet sign, and the movie on my disk in a few hours
Perhaps someone could build something that would enable a PS3 and Xbox 360 to communicate using the players hands

It is not so expensive..
Many cell phones > $200 have actual GPS
I was talking about those that floated
GPS beacons on containers + weekly cleanup ships which collect all the floating containers in a particular area
With WP7 crashing, and Nokia committing to WP7 in a big way, I wonder if WP7 would take Nokia down with it...

If they took into account the age people enter as age verification, then their results wouls be horribly wrong.
For most places, in the age verification column, I enter my age as 100, or DOB as 1 jan 1900 (1 jan is defaukt, just change the yr to 1900)
