This is a Thought Experiment, not a real plan to go anywhere... we aren't going to travel between the stars until we figure out something a whole lot better than chemical rockets and probably FTL drive...
If the science looks really flaky to you, then presumably you have some good explanation as to why smart people who study the subject hard are in agreement

I've had a lot of people work for me over the years, I've come to the conclusion that a minority of people are very hard workers and the vast majority are lazy who just want to get by.
