    In the Congress, money talks; bullshit walks. All this discussion about "IP rights" and "Constitution" is pure bullshit to these leeches. All they care about is money. Well, put your money where your mouths are and donate liberally to their opponents come November. If we can just kick a couple of these bloodsuckers out of Congress, then we'll send a message to the others that these shenanigans won't do.

    On the other hand, if they win again, then you might as well kiss the Internet (as we know it) goodbye....

    No, fundamentally the problem is that people are fucking lazy and don't speak up at the right time.

    People are too busy with their Britney Spears', their Amy Winehouses, etc. to pay attention.

    As they say, evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

    What you are seeing, with your own eyes, is good (and mediocre) men doing nothing.

    • la la reserves the right to . . . change its fees and charges at any time for any reason. You agree that as a condition of your use of the Site and Services, you authorize la la or its agents to charge your credit card for any fees or charges you incur in the use of the Site or Services.

    the CAPTCHA hasn't been "cracked". These people are just using humans to enter the CAPTCHA text; which is the whole point of the CAPTCHA anyways!

    Remember: CAPTCHA is an acronym (or backronym, depending on who you believe) for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart".

    The CAPTCHA would be considered cracked if there was a computer algorithm somewhere decoding it autonomously.

    What is missing in the summary is that Google owns YouTube. But the Google fanboys here would not want admit that the Almighty Google is fallible.

    Assume each book in LoC weighs on average 2Kg to simplify things.
    At last count the LoC had about 20M books.
    Dividing 11111111111111111 by (20,000,000 * 2), we get 277777777.
    In other words, this was equivalent to 277 million libraries of Congress.

    R.T.F.A.. His dad was driving the car; he was just a passenger in the back. He is not required to show photo identification; he is just required to give his name, address and DOB if asked. The cop asked him for his name, and then asked for his driver's ID. Michael refused (there are many people who don't have driver's licenses; ask people who live in cities like NYC and SF, with good public transportation systems. And what about the Amish?).

    I don't possess a tinfoil hat, or buy into conspiracies. But reading the user comments in his blog, I am shocked to see so many people calling him a "douchebag", a "tool", "smartarse", "attention whore", etc.

    I find it hard to believe that there are so many people out there who would willingly bend over and spread their cheeks for anyone in authority who asks for whatever reason. That's such a scary thought, that I'm _hoping_ (and praying, for the future of this country) that it's just a small group of rabble-rousers who are positing those comments.

    Have you all forgotten how AT&T is actively helping the USG wiretap, illegally I might add, 1000s of phone conversations? Including those of American citizens, without a court-authorized warrant? They deserve immunity for their help, says the Man. Now how many of the victims of this wiretapping ended up in Gitmo?

    Please read the "subpoena" given to Yahoo China by the authorities. All it says is (basically) we're investigating a theft of "state secrets", and would like your cooperation in this investigation. How many US companies would refuse such a request from a US LEO? Not even one, I can assure you.

    Its funny how everyone's getting all bent out of shape about this 1 case, when the FBI issues over 30000 National Security Letters a year, trolling through US citizens' records.
