Hummm I tend to recall something called FidoNet which existed, a little over one hundred years ago. It was kind of like a mesh network but wasn't a real time network due to cost. Perhaps we will need to return to our roots for the answer. alas it was so long ago it might be hard to track down those answers.

Thank you for the long detailed response.

I am self employed so my situation is different than most people. The information on the chamber of commerce provided plans is very informative and I will look into it here in NC. I have a personal blue cross plan and they will not allow any modifications to it now that I'm not 100% perfect like I was before. Also they are doing some very odd ball stuff such as requiring me to try two other medications and then get a note from my DR every year before they will cover certain drugs. I find that to be very redundant and very unjust. They have no business telling me which drugs my doctor has to proscribe let alone forcing him to write a letter each year if those other drugs don't cut it.

To elaborate a little more on that, it's sort of like a bank having to bank a certain amount of money in the federal reserve except the difference here is bonds, interest bearing accounts and other tools deemed to be safe. IF the Insurance company lowered it's risk pool, then it doesn't need to place as much into those investments and can therefore go heavier into other areas which would likely pay out much more then the costs of your condition.

I understand how it's suppose to work but I also know that the trend in management has shifted toward short term gain over long term survival so I wonder what is really going on.

Yes I agree that politicians are not equipped to create working business model's for anything and what we will end up with will be crap. I have no faith in government reform and I no longer have any faith in big business doing what it needs to in order to even survive. It seems that the people running things have realized they don't have to work hard for 20 years when they can rape the consumer and burn the corporation to the ground and make the same amount of wealth in only a couple years time with no legal trouble.

My wife works for the state as a teacher. Her job was on the chopping block last year and we just got lucky which is why I will remain with what I got. It's rather sad when a state chooses to cut important things like education, fire and police services. Once again a sign of what is coming in our country just like with what has happened in business management.

The level of short sightedness being displayed scares the crap out of me.

Honestly, who the fuck really cares exactly how or even if it and your post are nothing more than trolls (Which is my guess). The fact remains that people come back from war missing body parts all the time. Maybe it was a shell that went off, a landmine or some how a bullet. Perhaps a spider or snake bite or even some horrible VD. All of these things could happen and I'm sure most have happened. I don't think most men are going on Larry King to talk about it so even if it was just a troll message it totally failed because some place there is a grunt missing his pair because he severed his country just like I'm sure their are women now who served that are missing a breast.

On what authority and why am I accountable to that authority?

On the authority of those with bigger clubs than you whom can kill or imprison you if you don't do as they instruct. Hopefully this authority accounts for a large majority in any society and only makes the bare minimum rules necessary to protect your freedom to do as you like as long as whatever that is doesn't take away another's right to the same. (not currently the case)

but I'm interested in knowing why you think it's a valid rule and not simply a suggestion

I would not wish to be raped therefor I should not rape. The children part isn't really needed honestly. But please see the above part about freedom as well. Rape takes away another's freedom of choice.

This is an imperfect response to your question as there is no perfect answer. But to be honest, none of us are accountable to any authority and we can do whatever we like for as long as we can get away with it. (Hide from those with bigger clubs)

Also from the start they have stated that only two people in IT had access to this spy system. Doesn't that sound a bit funny to the rest of you? Maybe, like they're going to try and blame the IT people for this whole thing? It sure sounds that way to me and it wouldn't be the first time such has happened.

We all should know their full of shit. If you're in IT and have a password and don't give it to your boss they send you to ass-rape prison. I'd cite the story from CA but all of you should already know what I'm talking about.
