Funding is not unlimited; you make the decision about what to fund by doing a cost-benefit analysis using current estimates. This is exactly what they did, and they arrived upon the conclusion that plug-in hybrids and electric cars are current the most effective use of research monies.
You may disagree with the conclusion, but don't write it off as simply shortsighted politics.
As somebody who has just spent the morning trying to work out inconsistencies in wxWidgets between Windows and Linux, let me just say: shush.
It's not that wxWidgets is bad, but Qt's we-are-going-to-implement-everything-ourselves-so-it-acts-the-same-on-all-platforms approach has merit.
It would seem to me that this would be an argument for a national EMR database.
Instead of having thousands of individual databases, all with different levels of security and admin competence, we would have one.
I have been searching for a simple code example, but haven't been able to find one that doesn't involve me having to install f***ing Silverlight.
Anyone having better luck?
Describing it as "successful" is quite generous, considering I am a gaming fan and have never heard of it..
It's so unfair how the thumbnail for Microsoft stories is evil Bill Gates, but the thumbnail for Bill Gates being benevolent is a heart.
