No, not exactly. It'll log changes to the filesystem, so it knows possible failures after a crash, but it 's not capable of rolling back, for recovering data.
I don't think that is even a bad thing. The filesystem would be slower then, and applic. that need robustness (databases) have built journaling anyway.
At leat in Europe African economy's can allready export without having to pay import fees. Usually African countries themselves require exporters to pay fees, quick money for the leaders who usually don't care what is good or bad for their country.
This if fairly interesting too, but I think Q-DOS (Quick&Dirty OS) should be included as ancestor of MS-DOS - until version 3 it included a lot of the orginal code, and VMS and OS/2 as ancestor of NT.
It's also save to say Windows 2000 is influenced a lot by Unix and Linux.
Furthermore you could also add Wine and that new Open Source Windows project a read about a while ago (in./?).
Well, in my case people won't be able to visit my website, and mailserver (-administrators) will be upset for mail that remains in the queue because it can't be delivered to my domain (not that I get a lot of mail).
I think a shell script could be made that sends an e-mail to all persons in the.addressbook as well. You can't point & click at it in Pine, but it isn't very different.
This sounds like a good point. After a Microsoft breakup, we will have even *more* Microsofts. And apart from the fact a break is very hard in software industry, this will also be a precedent for company's like Corel, Sun, e.a. who have a great variaty of software products.
You don't have to wait! Windows is open source for students. University's can have full access to the source code of Windows (9x, NT, 2000) for educational purposes. It's under some sort of MS-PL, it's not allowed to publish the code to someone else, you'll have to forget it when you've finished the university and it's highly patented, so it's not allowed to create a windows-clone from the source.
It might be great if it's not Microsoft, but some of those cheap split keyboards are not designed right, just a normal keyboard that is slightly curved horizontally. Logitech is great though, if only there Desktop Pro was available anywhere.
ATI is allowed to have/use the specifications to develop DVD-playback software because it paid a lot of money and signed a contract not to public any information (or the source code) revealing any of them. It' just a very short-sighted view of the MPAA to make easy money.

Do you have any clue what a relation database is?
But how many people write unreadable because of this pen?
