I imagine most home users don't have IPv6 addresses.

In Canada we do. Most ISPs (Meaning the 3 big ones) are already set up to do it, and will dish you an IPv6 address if you configure things on your end (and they'll walk you through how to do it, if you wish) but they basically warn you that not every site is using it yet so they advise against using it.

You know that saying "Rome wasn't built in a day?" That has some factual evidence to it; it took many days to build Rome. And you want to know something a lot of people don't know? They took it down the next day, right after finishing it, because they weren't sure if it was going to work. Then they erected it all again later when they saw there were no problems.

Don't be fooled. The summary says nothing of the sort.

It says it's "Shuttering" the plant - a clever mind game to make you think they mean "Shutting Down" but they are actually just installing new blinds for the windows. It says that on March 31 it will "Close" - they probably just mean locking up for the night. On April 1 they might "ReOpen". 300 people will lose their jobs? They didn't say who, when, or where, it was only implied at the plant, but its not really specific enough to be sure. They could mean just 300 people in general will lose their job. A very low-ball estimate, if you ask me.

  14. Re:Personally.... on How To Use a Real Guitar With Rock Band 3 · · Score: 2

Having fun isn't a problem. It's this idea that there's anything particularly musical about Rock Band.

Oh come on now. At the VERY LEAST you get a sense for rhythm.

Plastic Guitar/Bass? Yeah probably the least realistic of the 3/4 piece band they try to imitate, but it does at least open the idea to people that the guitar is more than just knowing your chords, as strumming timing proves to be one of the more difficult parts of expert mode.

The Vocals? A little glitchy here and there, and no you don't have to even be in the proper key, but thats the same for every Kareoke game out there, I treat Rock Band no differently. In terms of vocals, you have to at least know how to tune your voice to do it on Expert.

And Drums are probably the best for transferance of skills. If you can drum expert you are well on your way to real drums. The only thing left to learn is how to work that left foot for the high-hat, and you already know how to do a basic beat.

So yeah, I disagree - there are some music lessons being taught in Rock Band. Not anything super complex but to say there isn't anything particularily musical in Rock Band is like saying there isn't anything particularily entertaining about playing a video game. It's basically what the core of the game is designed around, whether you like it or not.

In fact the most unique, fresh and striking ideas come from Fox News, CNN, and Glenn Beck.

It's a completely unilateral relationship where there is absolutely no personal responsibility when an organization does something wrong, but it is ENTIRELY the organization to blame if the executive officers decide to do something like this.

I've found that a lot of 'outsourced' programming jobs go to people who only know one language. And that language tends to be C++, because its easier to teach someone 1 language than it is to teach them the theory and how it applies to 5 languages.
