This could turn out very interesting. Indrema had a new idea, but the problem was that the company simply couldn't fund a project like this. Now we've got big Sony supporting Linux (even more intriguing, Linux is something Microsoft fears greatly, and now Sony's supporting it)
GSCube is actually a collection of 16 PS2s working together in a cluster (feel free to make Beowulf jokes here). Basically, it is a monster graphics renderer used for CG like the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within movie coming out this summer. It doesn't play games. You hook it into a SGI computer and it pumps out graphics like nobody's business.
I'd like to see what would happen if those guys didn't get a chance to kill themselves after they went on the shooting rampage. Really makes me wonder who would get the blames and finger-pointing then...
Funny you should say that... The Gameboy has recently broken 100 million unit sales, and it's been out for over a decade. The Playstation has been out for almost half that time yet has sold over 75 million units.
the reason the "thought police", as you phrase it, have been unsucessful in banning movies, magazines, and books is that most of the media you have previously mentioned have at least some redeeming aspects or artistic value, while Anime does not.
The very fact that anime has such a global widespread appeal among millions of fans proves your argument wrong before it even began.
Maybe if we had a bunch of CmdrTaco clones running around, we could avoid a lot of repeated news postings?
What if your half-height clone ends up kicking your ass out the door and makes YOU mow the lawn?
"I wanna have a brainless clone in a tube in case I blow out my liver drinking whiskey"
:)
That's what your morning overdose of coffee is for.
Create an army of Slashdotters to Slashdot the RIAA and MPAA websites.
Hilary Rosen: "I hate this damn DMCA thing! Who made it?? Who supports it?? Let's sue them!!!"
Advisor: "Umm, ma'am, we do..."
Hilary Rosen: "WWWHAT!?"
That's what I meant, that is, the "old specs" (I didn't know they quadrupled the number of processors and graphics chips, nice!)

Oops. They're dead. Can't sue. Must sue someone else then. Gotta appease that American appetite for legal action.

Go play the recently released Metal Gear Solid 2 demo and try to say PS2 sucks. You physically won't be able to.
Congressman: "So, this planet, Pluto, how far away is it?"
NASA guy: "3.7 billion mile... err!!
Aww, don't pick on the poor little monopoly.

Let's think about this...
Microsoft
Intel
nVidia
And you don't think this PC-in-a-Box will have bugs?

Does an AOLer trying to have cybersex with AOLiza count as adultery too? 8-)
::NASA engineer comes in the room::
NASA Engineer: "Say guys, how many inches of height does the thing have to break to reach escape velocity?"
APL Tech: "What the HELL did you just say??"
You see what NASA can accomplish when they don't accidentally use the English units of measurement? :-)
We all know these sites weren't DOS'ed. They were Slashdotted!
Finally a use for all those AOL disks. At least the CDs still make excellent drink coasters!

Couldn't MicroBorg save a whole lot of time and trouble by just assimilating this little upstart?

Perhaps they should send a team of oil drillers with a copper drill bit instead.
