A bit of a tangent but what about viruses spreading to your backups on USB or eSATA drives?
So if you leave your backup drive attached all the time (or even some of the time) how do you keep malware from being copied to your backups or restored to your fresh machine?
What is the best practice for the family PCs?
Really any grey-hared mechanic will have a trick odd-ball stuff like this.
Or build a giant vacuum chamber / oven to expand the thing out. Or warp field bubble?
How can they ever "fully resolve" this issue without a brain transplant. Do you really want to do business with an idiot company? Decisions like this had to involve multiple people in charge, NOT a one-off bone-head making a mistake.
Most users will pick an easy to remember password that they are less likely to fat finger. Making the mask optional would help. Users rarely surf in public.
Identifying clients should be the creditor's problem, not mine. I have little control over my own SSN, but I am supposed to now buy ID theft insurance?
Seems like Trans Union, TRW, Visa and the like should be able to figure something out.
Farm boundaries are in Nautical miles not statute miles, hence the 1 minute of degree alignment (which only works in latitude unless your at the equator). -- Pilot ground school.
Steve Job's abilities is a big part of stock's value.
It IS his track record of achievements that is used to predict future success.
Whether his perceived value is more or less than his actual value is a risk who's scope cannot be measured until he is gone. Release of medical information goes with the high profile CEO job like being able to lift 40# is to a warehouseman job. I assume he is being compensated for this burden.
Imagine a similar but more extreme case of Oprah Inc or Martha Stewart Inc without those people. They lied about his health to protect the stock price not to protect his privacy.
It's not that people don't empathize with him as a human being. It sucks to be human, we get sick, we die. If we are lucky, we accomplish something memorable.
I hope Kodak and Fuji take care of their core film lines, even if it is no longer a significant profit center. I know they are a business, maybe they can keep some film production going as a charitable contribution when no longer profitable on it's own.
I am not an photographer myself but do appreciate their work.
Do Britons cherish a right to unregulated alcohol commerce?
Why is it OK for an automotive company to protect it's hard work but evil for a software company to do the same?
No one expects Toyota to give it's cars away for free and live only off the repair work.
Slashdot seems bipolar on the patent issue.
Except that few of the European diesel cars can pass the tough relatively new US emission standards at a price point that competes with gasoline.
And some states (CA, NY) prohibit them...

The prius has smaller, higher pressure tires, so it could be digging deeper into the asphalt, the same way it would in soft mud.
No, I am not going to run the numbers because big rigs have very high pressure tires and very high loads which drives the road design.
I observed it hurts less to get your toe run over by an SUV than a car while working summers washing cars.
The guy is clearly a pedophile which should be enough to remove him from society.
I usually login before hitting Fn+F4. Duh!

The qualified immunity defense did not work for the cop that violated Rodney King's rights and it should not work here either.

No. Neither have 99.99% of the people in this world.
You clearly have no business designing a user interface. Back to the password reset help desk for you!
Maybe they choose easy passwords is because they cannot see what the hell they are typing.

I'll make the decision on whether I trust the battery manufacturer when I buy my battery thank very much. Can't even trust Sony now can we?
You buy a set of SAE or Metric wrenches to bloody you knuckles, not Imperial.
If fractions are so hard, explain the European paper sizes.
Major city streets are 1.61 km apart and the feeders are 51/64 km apart. See it's easy!

I used to shop at Walmart, now I work there.
You only hire communists?
It is also irresponsible for carriers to hide the real price. Many young people think you can really get a $99 iPhone.
