    Direct Democracy is rule of mob. Saying plain ol' Democracy is a rule of mob is like saying a Parallelogram is a four sided figure with all equal sides. We live in a Representational Democracy, roughly speaking a Republic and Democracy where representatives are determined by the people.

    Sorry, I meant laptop/desktop. Haven't seen a mac desktop in so long that I forgot they exist. I thought I remembered seeing something in one of Apple's reference documents that the iphone is practically restricted to obj-c. Can't find it, so I probably misremember it.

    There is one popular computing platform that requires all programs to be written in Objective-C.

    Does it? I thought Apple allowed a few other languages, like plain C/C++...

    Not on the iPhone (and I assume neither for any of Apple's current non-laptop devices). But for the laptop, yeah, there are plenty of languages.

    That's how I learned to use most software, like . . . well, that's actually how I learned how to use all software. To learn about a program the best, you must be willing to royally screw it up in every possible way. Then again, that's probably not the best way to go about treating an entire planet, but we know that it at least works in the end. Assuming all parties survive in the end.

    Other solution: Send all of our phone cleaners, politicians, telemarketers, and other human leeches to another planet. Or into our sun.

    [nitpick]@last statement: yes, it seems that under certain conditions, being a carrier for the sickle-cell allele can be beneficial. It gives resistance to malaria. Problems occur when you have two copies of the gene, instead of one. [/nitpick]

    You should better learn your economics. It's the study of the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Most of those are neither goods nor services. And no, this isn't just being pedantic.
