    But now many of us are held up to the expectations of having internet connection. Sure, we managed to survive without phones, but living in the modern life partially means that you are accessible by phone (for most of us, anyways). Internet, email, etc has now gone that route too.

    Multi-button USB mice work perfectly fine with Macs. To right click with touch pad, put two fingers down on surface instead of one. There still is the control click, as you said.

    Interesting. I had this problem with a somewhat older version of Ubuntu (Hardy Heron), where if I pressed mute, then unmuted, sound would go through both speakers and earphones. That problem seems to have been solved when I upgraded to Karmic. Before then, simple fix was to replug jack. I didn't know that anybody else had the problem.
