I know the article was sparse on details, but does the Supreme Court and Congress understand they are passing laws and legislation against an entity that is worldwide and not restricted to US borders? Congress sees passing legislation against pornography is great at the polls and election time. But what will happen to those same politicians when little Johnny and Janey are viewing porn from offshore sites? I guess manifest destiny will see a come back. Ahem. Right.
In my humble opinion, yes, commercials and advertising are *that* much of an intrusion. Life is too short to listen to that much crap. If I decide to spend some leisure viewing some show, I don't want my time wasted with needless advertising.
I disagree with Mr. Katz's assertion the internet itself is revolutionary. I think the word evolutionary comes to mind. The internet is just another evolutionary step in humankind's ability to communicate with one another. Writing, the telegraph, and the telephone are just a few of the steps that precede the internet. If Jon spoke of the computer in it's various incarnations throughout history as being a revolutionary device, I might have agreed with him.
