You push the power button on the Kindle Fire and the screen turns off. You push it again and the screen comes on and you're looking at the lock screen with adds - swipe the screen and the lock screen and ads go away. They are not displayed on the screen when the device is off. On the e-ink displays the ads are displayed when the Kindle is turned off, but it requires no power to maintain the screen in that state - every once in a while the device wakes up, updates the ad and goes back to sleep - it uses very tiny amounts of power and has almost on impact on expected battery life.

I agree, being able to display only the channels you can actually choose from is one of many great features I love about my Tivo Premiere - not only can I block channels I don't get from the guide, I can block channels I don't ever want to watch (Bloomfield TV, Oprah TV, Lifetime, Lifetime Movies, Univision, HSN, QVC, etc.) from the guide so it's much easier to find the programming I do enjoy. Combined with a HD Roku box and a Netflix streaming-only subscription, I have more TV choices than I really need.

Oh, and then I loaded about 80 free applications on it, and how many free apps are available through iTunes, oh, that's right - they start at $0.99 and go up, so I saved another $79+ there, too....

I agree with your solution with one additional step - after the light has turned red and the steel plate is raised up, but before the light for the other direction can turn green, the center of the intersection should open up like a trap door and dump in to a pit all the cars who entered an already full intersection so they wouldn't have to stop for the red light and wait for their turn. I'm not sure what should be in the pit -- hungry tigers, or maybe a pool filled with ill-tempered sea bass - either of those would be fine.

Any game that features PvE and PvP is never going to please everyone. It takes a great deal of effort to fairly balance a game for either PvE or PvP - it's almost impossible to do. People who play PvE want big weapons (or spells or whatever) that do massive damage, and if it can kill your opponent in one swing (casting, etc.) that's even better. In PvP, no one wants to go into a fight knowing that they can be one-hit-killed, so weapons, spells, etc. have to be toned down.

Crafting is another touch situation. If you can craft anything that is profitable, then everyone will jump on that wagon and drive the value down.

I have played a lot of MMORPGs (the original Neverwinter Nights on AOL back in the early 1990s, right up through WoW and have yet to find a game that can fairly and accurately balance a PvE and PvP situation to keep a majority of people happy - WoW comes closest, but there will always be people who are unhappy.

BTW - I'm playing Dungeon Runners right now and it's a blast (if a bit simple) and you can't argue with the price (free, or $5/mo if you want all the features).
