Anonymous headquarters..? Uh..? In what way are these the 'wrong people'? You know anonymous is mostly 4chan gimps. I don't think they have a secret base anywhere just yet.
The base is distributed in parents basements worldwide
Funny, i work for a government contractor and i had no idea what it means. Of course i'm just a programmer, people in other departments actually talk to the government agencies and deal with the bidding.
As a programmer, you should be familiar with Request For Comments (RFCs). It doesn't take a rocket scientist to replace the "C" with a "P" and do some logical thinking. Hell even a programmer could do it....:-)
I mean 1200 pages? If I can't do something I look online rather than have my desk cluttered by a few 1200 page manuals. In a storage box somewhere, I still have the Microsoft Visual C++ 1.5 set, which occupies an entire freaking bookshelf. I think that was the time when I realised paper documentation was going to die.
I'm not even sure the jokes count as "sexist". Even taking Adrias blog version of events the jokes were sexual double entendres, not sexist.
Her over the top escalation did cause one of the guys to be fired, apparently, and in addition caused the company she worked for to be severely DDOSed and presumably hit with a mountain of email. From what I can tell most people think she severely overreacted.
FWIW, women do have a right to expect not to be made the target of misogynistic jokes and have a right to be protected in the workplace from inappropriate comments. But that does NOT mean that two people cannot have a semi-private banter even in the workplace or at a conference.
Actually she "only" got about £6 million in the divorce settlement with Andrew Lloyd Webber, a sum that she actually offered to return when the operatic/musical career skyrocketed. Lloyd Webber told her to keep it as she'd earned it, and besides as his estimated worth is currently about £700 mill, he's hardly likely to miss some small change....
...the US has a problem with high levels of employment.
Why can't these firms set up educational establishments to train US citizens to the skill levels they need? Or have apprenticeships? Or....
Actually I think it seems a cynical way to keep labour costs down, so perhaps companies ought to be allowed to hire from overseas providing they demonstrate they're paying that worker 25% more than a US citizen would earn in the same role.
I'm not a US citizen, but I think this, like offshoring is a way of trying to force labour costs down. Paradoxically I think you want labour costs up, as increasing the affluence of the lower/middle classes creates a larger market for your goods.
I've found the best way of doing it is to work at the nearby home of my parents or mother-in-law. Some separation of your work life from home life is necessary
Actually, when two isolated human cultures meet, one of the first things trade are sexually transmitted diseases. The same thing will happen with aliens:
"Captain, I know it was against orders . . . but I just couldn't resist her green scaly skin, her soft yellow underbelly, and her series of fin-like ridges running down here spine!"
Dr McCoy calling James T. Kirk to the Medical Bay - again!
I always thought it had something to do with the fact that Poland still had a horse-mounted cavalry at the beginning of WWII.
Except the Wehrmacht was itself largely reliant on horses for logistical transport and reconnaissance throughout the war, especially during the beginning years. In fact, on the Western Front both the Germans and Soviets used mounted troops regularly.
If you're doing serious programming, you should use the best keyboard you can, and in most cases a cheap USB keyboard is kinder to the fingers than any laptop keyboard is going to be, thus reducing the risks of RSI and similar injuries.
By all means leave the laptop open so you can have an auxiliary screen as well as your main screen. Anyway 13" laptop sceens are a joke for doing anything serious, 17"+ laptop screens are the One True Answer:-)
Our whole universe was in a hot dense state, Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started Wait....

Unless there was a ballot option to prevent Mr Lane being reelected, he didn't need a majority; technically a single vote would get him reelected.
To win an election you don't need a majority of the votes, you just need more than anyone else.
...for sharks to operate these lasers will commence shortly ....
go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
This zombie fad is getting worn out. Just stop it, stop referencing it, stop producing zombie-related media, just STOP.

They're simply a list of ingredients
So you're free to make a SpicyWith. (Unless they have a trademark on SpicyWith, which is again unlikely as descriptions are not allowed)
Hunting Female Warriors is difficult, its a question of whether they get you before you get them

I'm never going to get my dongle out in public again....
One wonders what percentage would result if these were factored into their equations?
I notice it also doesn't appear to cover Apple shops....
Also, there's a difference between sexist comments and sexual jokes, which it seemed the po-faced Ms Richards didn't appreciate.
All in all, she seems to be a drama llama.

I think you meant Eastern Front :-)
Well I'm typing this on a HP Pavilion g7 which is on my lap, so its a laptop.
Does everyone need a 17"+ laptops? Probably not
Do I? Hell yes.
Is 1600x900 the minimum acceptable display to do coding and DB development? Yep

So much of a no-brainer that about 5 of us all posted the same answer almost simultaneously! :-)
