They've shipped 2.5 million to 3 million screens but they don't seem to have got the world beating product that shifts by the tens of millions out yet.
The problem is that Apple have a lead and by the time PixelQI get the product to market, Apple will be on the next generation of their product.
Why do I get the feeling that MPs are a bunch of morons who have no idea how the Internet works even when it is explained to them?
Here's a few examples: Little Jimmys parents object to porn, but little Jimmy wishes to view some, so he gets his mobile phone and wanders round till he finds an open wireless connection, which won't block downloads to his mobile even though he hasn't done the proof of age thing with the mobile operator. He then downloads porn and starts to masturbate happily. Or he goes round to his friends house, where porn is not blocked, and does the same thing. Or.....
the list of bypasses is endless.
On a different subject, in order for it to work, the ISPs will presumably be operating a site blacklist which can be easily extended to cover other sites the government doesn't approve of. Lo and behold you now have the Great Firewall of the United Kingdom.
If there is infringing content, Tte account holders put it there in the first place, so having read only rights to the account holders only wouldn't distribute it any further - at least not through megaupload.....
Netrek has avatars (spaceships) and it can be argued the transition from 2D to 3D is obvious and non-patentable, as 3D multiplayer games were also plentiful.
I was going to say this seems to be the realisation that the Transputer had the answers decades ago, but it seems many others have said exactly the same thing. I shall resume my nap.,....
I was trying to say that your approach to investment in the two areas had to have a similar philosophy, including a reasonable expectation of failure.
I was comparing to the expectation of success and failure in projects funded by venture capital, and the fact that you invest in a number of ventures so that the "rewards" from the success of some will outweigh the disappointment or "loss" from the failure of others, stating that the two were exactly the same. The reward is the eventual success/ completion of the the project, not financial gain.
My first experience of a proper Microcomputer was a Commodore PET at a wargaming convention. After that I got interested in what computers could do and have had a career of over 25 years in Computing as a result. I also bought an Atari ST which I used for several years.
Thank you, Jack, for your contribution to my life. You are one of the few people who I can genuinely say will be missed with thanks and gratitude.
It would not surprise me if AOL had useful patents concerning the design of networked systems to handle their millions of users. They were probably the first to encounter the problems that having potentially 25 million+ users would cause.
After a certain time period artists should have no right over their own creations - they should be in the public domain so they can be used. Copyright is simply a protection period to allow an artist to profit by having a monopoly on his work.
Anyway, its a little unclear as to what the Chinese law is, whether through poor drafting of the law or poor translation in the article. Does it mean you can make a direct copy after 3 months, or simply that it is fair use to record it yourself or use the original as part of your mix track?
In some cases in the US you can get a mechanical license to copy by right immediately after the original musician has first published or performed see Compulsory Mechanical License, so it is possible this Chinese law is more restrictive than the US
Yes but it looks like its a one time fee. i.e. 3 months after Lady Gaga has released her single you can copy it, pay a 1-time fee of say $10, and then make as many copies as you like for your own ends. Unless the summary misses out that the fee scale is more complex than this, I'm not sure that the balance is right and normally I'm in favour of drastic cutback of Intellectual Property time periods.
Most phones in UKia are sold on contract and if people are told they can have this or an iPhone4s if they agree a few more months on their contract I know which way they're gonna go.
The main reason to buy a Nokia seems to be if you want a camera which just happens to have a phone on it, such as an N-900 or even their forthcoming Nokia-808 PureView when it comes out
I suspect that whilst websites have user/password control, and whilst it is common to encrypt passwords in a database, most other database records are mostly in plain text
My 20-year old Sony Trinitron beats iPad 3 Screen Quality. If I had a strange name like "Pixel Qi" or "Kim Dotcom" would this make a slashdot story ?
If you can show us a picture of you on the beach using your Sony Trinitron display, then I think you'd get into Slashdot :-)

Chrome is getting to a stage where its share of the market could be regarded as significant.
Well I had mod points (until I commented here) and would have voted up because its a sensible statement of a possible anti-trust action.
Microsoft may be the spawn of Satan, but there is no reason why Google cannot be persuaded to sell its soul and join the Dark Side.... :-)

With the durability of Ikea furniture, they'll be able to sell you a new sofa AND a new hi-fi, tv and game system every year!
You missed the probe to Uranus which I understand is still virgin territory.
Boom-tish
One presumes the account holders have paid megaupload, so the server costs can be met out of their frozen accounts.
I'm on a roll today.

Right thats the DOJ argument settled - next?
Why can't all the MegaUpload servers and files on it be set so that all account holders have read only access to their data?
Problem solved.
My invoice is in the post.

Money put into Kickstarter is probably best regarded as venture capital, where there is a significant failure rate of projects.
The question perhaps ought to be how can failing projects be detected and prevented from being a complete waste of "investors" money?
I was hoping that a squadron of F-18s were on Combat Air Patrol just waiting to drop a laser guided bomb on the miscreant who had your stolen phone.

And indeed many companies use their charitable donations as a means of reducing their tax bill
...they devoted their talents to opening up the Great Firewall.
Any silly video has to have cats or some other cute animal.
Scottevest's whole pitch is clothing that you can store a lot of electronic gadgets in.
Yes we would have loved a video with Timothy showing how many kittens he can fit in his Scottvest hoodie....
Am, in the interests of balance, going to boycott EA games unless they have more lesbian content.
It's only fair after all.
