All the world's governments do exactly that... That's how it works... Oh, wait, you think we're under the influence of a bunch of philosophers and 'morality'? Well, my friend, all that philosophy and morality is enforced by heavy weaponry, and people submit because they don't want to get shot.. They want to protect their own little fiefdoms, at home, work, wherever.. Life is actually pretty simple that way. And do try to remember what gave birth to the great and wonderful American lifestyle, and every single freedom (and totalitarian) movement that has ever existed since man crawled out of the primordial soup, when you want to lecture me about anything... Freedom of speech does not include the right to slander or libel people you don't like...

Yes it does. That's what 'freedom of speech' means. Part of that freedom is the freedom to offend.. And as a counterpoint, I will state that nobody has the right to use rationalizations such as 'libel' and 'slander' to stifle the right to speak. So I hope that people will make the maximum use of existing tech and create new tech to help stamp out the stiflers. If you don't like what's being said about you, say something back.. That's as far as your rights go..

Bah, no point in discussing it, since all rights and freedoms depend on a gun to back them up against the attackers. The freedom fighters just need a bigger gun.

Regardless of their differences, and I will no longer argue the rationalizations that people make up, they're both scams used to stifle a person's right to speak. Time to fight back. Take no prisoners. As always, the best defense is a strong offense. One is to stop foolishly giving out any real details about yourself to these services, who are only data mining anyway. Another is to fill the system up with as much chaff as possible to make identification as difficult as possible. Use proxy servers, alternative DNSs, etc where you can. Use public wifi. Use live CDs to avoid the storage of possibly incriminating evidence on your machine. We have the tech.. we need to use it to our advantage. We should never let anyone tell us what we can say, no how 'offensive' they think it is. Render them absolutely powerless, and nail the people who act, those who actually use information against another person via physical force.. That's where the real, and only harm is being done.

Well, i guess you got me, because I can't differentiate 'actual' law from natural law. I wouldn't know how to articulate it any more accurately than 'might makes right'. I'm under the impression that I'm being asked to find some kind of morality when there is no such thing. All the eloquent rhetoric behind the laws of man, written by business people to protect their own interests, while they live under a completely different set of rules, mean nothing to me. Damn Airbus does not provide angle of attack info to the pilots. See my other comments.. If both HSIs (along with the standby artificial horizon) all agree with each other, chances are they are good. The 'disagreement' was with the airspeed indicators (in theory, because the co-pilot's airspeed indicator is not recorded, another shameful bit of outright negligence to save a couple of pennies)This is where the training fails. Everybody stuck on the broken stuff, ignoring everything else. So much avoidable tragedy for lack of proper conditioning, and failure to reinforce it. Blame economics.. Not only should Airbus face charges, but so should Air France (who's accident rate is almost equal to United's and American's combined). Hang 'em high...

Where do the big media corporations behind the RIAA and MPAA get their money if not from consumers?

Most of their income is from speculation in the stock market (they make just as much money when we buy toilet paper, kitchen cleaners, and food) and commodities, usually currency trading.. And many companies like Sony, Samsung, etc. have big investments in heavy industry. And their other customers are actually the distributors of retail goods, not the end user. Walmart and Best Buy tell them what to make and what we want, we don't.. That is why their products usually suck so bad, with their DRM and 'features' that nobody wants.. You take the whole package, or you pound sand.. Like with cable TV.. And besides, 'we' are nothing but zombies who will buy what we are told to buy, same rules apply in politics. And zombies aren't interested in facts...Education will not work. Only conditioning/indoctrination will... That is an evolutionary issue.. We just aren't that advanced that the 'rational' brain can overrule blind instinct..
