IT might be bad in the UK, but Google is somehow keeping 'le nom de la femme de chambre' off its pages... Somebody has a lot more power than some soccer player or even UK law.. I think that's a much bigger story. Will Slashdot pick up on it?
And besides, the police will just as likely steal your honest dollar as 'drug proceeds'. Good luck getting it back.. Honesty, and even basic humanity has become a quaint old anachronism. If so, for what it's worth, you all should raise holy hell about it... or use only the wifi, if the phone has it... then watch them raise their rates to make up for lack of use.. like the water companies are doing due to 'excessive conservation'..

I want to know how many Chinese prefer Folgers Coffee Crystals to their regular coffee. I mean, if I'm going to open a factory there, I need some numbers I can use.
This has become an OCD of the worst kind, and only makes the entire infrastructure even more brittle than it already is. And each connection to the net is just another attack vector, and probably subject to some secretexecutive order mandating that microphones and cameras be installed.
Then the only thing left is a live CD or DVD in a read only drive.. And that's ok also, even if a bit slow.. There's usually enough RAM to load the entire system in there if you need the speed, but that opens up a small vulnerability right there... At least there's a choice.
